Mutton Biryani/Lamb Biryani
Ingredients :
For fresh ground Masala :
Cinnamaon -3 pieces
Cloves -5
Cardamom -5
Ingredients for Mutton Biryani/Goat Biryani/Lamb Biryani:
Mutton/Goat/Lamb
Bay leaf -1
Cinnamon-1 piece,
Cloves-2
Onions-1 cup
Tomato-1 cup
Ginger Garlic paste -1 tbsp
Coriander leaves-few chopped
Basmati Rice -2 cups
Water-3 cups(mutton will release water,calculate that water too and add plain water accordingly)
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Homemade chill powder -2 tbsp or chilli powder -1 tbsp and coriander powder -2 tbsp
Garam masala-1 tbsp
Curd -1/4 cup
Lemon -2 tbsp
Oil-2 tbsp
Curd-1/4 cup
Lemon juice -2 tbsp
Method:
Switch on Instant pot /electric pressure cooker in sauté mode .
Pour 2 tbsp oil and add bay leaf,cinnamon and cloves
Add chopped onions,tomato and ginger garlic lpaste and sauté well until they come together .
Scrape the bottom well if they stick to the bottom of Instant pot.Add table spoon of water and deglaze if needed .
Add mutton pieces and sauté in oil along with onion tomato mixture
Add turmeric powder,homemade chilli powder and Garam masala.
Add curd.
Add a cup of water and cook mutton for 10 mins in high pressure .
Measure the water released from cooked mutton.
Add extra water as needed.
Add lemon juice .
Add rice and close Instant pot lid.
Switch off sauté mods and switch on pressure cook mode.
Set timer to 6 minutes on high pressure.
Do a quick release after pressure release .
