You should be fine yes. The Thinkbook won’t have as powerful of a power supply but it seems like 50-55 watts chip power is peak anyways. After that it doesn’t really add anything. So long as the 13x can keep it cool I see no issues.

Hey Beau, I love the content and the varied coverage! but I gotta disagree that this is impressive. Say a laptop has a 60Whr battery, it can get away with 2hrs of gameplay on a 30W 780M vs 1hr on a 185H spiking to 50-65W all the time. That also means more fan noise and more heat. It's a great leap for intel, sure, but still not great in comparison at all. And I hope its way better than a Steamdeck, it uses over 4X the power. Also really disegenious to compare RDR2 @ 1080p with Quality FSR (upscaling from 720P) at 40fps to the current gen consoles being artificially capped at 4K 30fps. The consoles can easily run RDR2 at 4K 60fps with no upscaling (a mod has proven this for the PS5), Rockstar just doesn't care to update it. You can get the unlocked fps adavtage on any PC, it doesn't mean it will look better than the consoles, so the comparison is kind of moot

Appreciate the comment, but Here is the the thing. I never said this would be good in handheld or on battery. In fact I pointed out several times how many watts were needed. The 185h is being tested in a a laptop with 84wh,and most likely has access to an outlet. You need to be careful to not extrapolate to comments and points that are not made. Regardless, the raw performance IS impressive for this chip. I also explained that the 30 watt AMD iGPU would performs similar to 55 watts on this iGPU. Progress is progress.
@mejohnc

@@TechGuyBeau "its pulling a lot of watts" *as compared to?* "You're gonna blow away a steam deck" *no caveats added to the statement* After watching this video a 3rd time, I can confirm I didn't extrapolate anything, perhaps you made the points mentioned in your reply in another video I haven't seen. I made clear that that several points you did make in this video were disingenuous. Your reply to me makes your stance much clearer than your 12m video. We just fundamentally disagree that the performance is impressive, being a year late to the party and not any cheaper, while using twice the power. It's not great. I never mentioned its viability as a handheld, merely the oddity of you comparing the two and acting as if the Intel was better. Perhaps you should take your own advice and be careful to not extrapolate to comments and points that are not made. That's all.

In terms of raw power, it’s about equal. In some cases faster in some maybe slower The negative is that AMD gets there with less watts (eg 30 for AMD matches 50 for Intel). In a laptops this doesn’t matter as supplying 50 watts is a pittance. But in a handheld it can be an issue So, in laptops the 185h is an amazing iGPU product. But for portable handhelds the higher wattage demand might be an issue in theory

it’s a huge leap for Intel. It has 1. Much better battery efficiency than 13th/14th Gen 2. Good power overall 3. Excellent iGPU perforce, but required higher watts I think Intel needs to find a way to let us easily disable cores since doing so will allow for equal or better iGPU performance on even lower watts. This would make the core ultra viable in handhelds As it stands. The core ultra is quite good in laptops however

9:25 - Please don't overstate the capabilities here. You suggest that the Series X and PS5 "can't achieve" 60fps, meaning these integrated graphics playing 45 fps are somehow more capable than those consoles. Wrong, the PC port simply allows you to set higher frame rates, but does not mean that the consoles are unable to hit that, Rockstar simply has withheld the patch.
@TechGuyBeau

No…. I didn’t state that. The consoles also run at 1440/4k I state that people are accustomed to playing at 45-60fps a lot more then people might think (since pc gamers are often suggesting they need 120+ to be playable) Please don’t extrapolate things I say. Thanks

Every manufacture today says all their laptops are GAMING LAPTOPS, even if they are complete JUNK, you can decent a skunk but its DNA is still a skunk. Unlike PC's where you can upgrade parts - their is 3 main parts in a laptop that can never be altered, they are generally not changeable parts. The Screen / CPU / GPU, so always spend maximum you can afford and get the best of the best of those 3 parts. storage / ram can add those upgrade those any time so its no issue, same with other parts of laptop, those 3 never can be changed typically, so want to purchase the best of the best you can afford of those 3 parts when buying a laptop to last you the longest time. this is the #1 mistake all laptop people fail at to acknowledge the 3 main parts in laptop purchases, regardless of marketing or label's on them.
