@@ogbullion the reason I asked is that I had almost 10kg BGAs with copper bonding wires and was very surprised by the extremely low yield

I remember that video its insane. My first tought that someone separated the valuable BGAs from the non valuable ones(I don't know how) and sold the copper ones. I dont know for sure. But im sure it's not your fault beacuse you have a pritty big knowledg of precious metal recovery from any kind of e-waste.

Thanks for this video 👍. I've been wondering for a long time how much these pieces contain gold. So +/- about the same as black fiber pentium and about 50% more than ceramic Duron.

what happens if you dissolve it directly in aqua regia without deplating the gold foils first?

It works, and cheaper, but i personaly not like the dirty solution.

nice video OG man i kinda regret that i didnt bid on a 16kg ceramic cpu auktion on ebay. i wasnt sure if i should, at the end they sold for 2000€. i wanted to buy old phones and such. but finding 16kg of these is a once in a liftime thing. the buyer must be real happy. and i ended up spending almost the same amount for phones, ram, fibre cpu etc. so many things to process. when i think about it now, it would've been much easier processing just the ceramics but also 2grand for 16kg is a lot of money especially if you dont know if they have gold or aluminium bonding wire and how many of them are goldcaps. and also if the yield is 2g per kg, you end up with 1ounce of gold so 2000 was way to much.

If mixed ceramics totally worth it. And yea ceramics pritty rare these days. RAM is good stuff too but a lot of work, I processed 17 kilo mixed ramsticks bought for 26$/kilo I got 10 g of gold from it.

After adding SMB to the aqua regia my gold is floating rather than drop. Any idea on what i did wrong please?
@ogbullion

Nothing wrong with that. Always float some dendridic gold on the top. Squirt with water couple times with squirt botle and the gold will sink.
