To your question on how intel applies to civilian life - something as simple as a LinkedIn search before meeting a prospect can show mutual connections or a shared college/civic group/etc. and can be easily used in the rapport building stage of the call. Doesn’t always work, but I’m impressed with how often it does. Again, simple example (we do more intel gathering and internal pre-calling to ensure a successful outcome), but I bring it up to illustrate that even the low hanging fruit can be useful. Thanks for the video, great stuff as always.

I would really appreciate if you could make a video about your experience specifically as an officer in special operations. I am currently an Officer Candidate and am highly interested in special operations and/or general combat arms. I understand "officers aren't door kickers" and "your primary weapon is your team not your rifle", but besides those two phrases there really isn't much information out there on the officer side of things. Do you see combat? How often are you out leading the mission versus running it from a TOC? Almost all former SOCOM youtubers and other resources are from the enlisted perspective. A lot of people including myself would benefit highly from videos on this type of information.

A simple road trip needs an Intel research. What's is the route. What are the weather conditions and forecast for the duration. Road construction on the route and any detours. Any weather specific clothing that you may need. Do you we have the right vehicle for the job. What will fuel requirements be and where fuel, food and lodging are located along the route. Where will planned stops be for said fuel, food, rest. Hospitals along the route for any medical needs. Items needed for the trip such as tools, spare tire, flashlights, road flares, etc. Itinerary for a contact(flight plan). There's more, but you get the idea.

I didn't watch the video but I have an idea why. It tells you where the target is, how many guards or combatants are with him, when he arrives and when he leaves. Basically it answers the questions: where? when? how many? I remember something problematic: the JSOC intel gathering unit was forced in recent years to do ops when ACE/CAG/Delta or DEVGRU didn't have units. Now that was part of the job description but it got to the point where they didn't do it occasionally but quite regularly. Thos undermines their intel gathering capability because they are known as enemy combatants by the enemy.
