How was the install? EZ I hope. Did it come with the diagram? I have the 1986 GMC c1500 step aside. I love this truck!!!

Easy depends on you I would say. The directions do not take into consideration several factors including whether or not you have a gauge cluster or idiot lights. I soldered and heat shrinked all connection to metri-pack connectors that I took from a donor vehicle this way I can simply unplug the unit to remove it. You need to ensure the boards solder joints are covered and not able to touch the metal part of the bezel or they will short out. You will also need some other bushings to fit the sending units depending on your application. I used a hot glue gun to glue the lenses to the cluster and omitted the plastic cover altogether and it looks much better. I would also suggest you test fit everything to the instrument panel bezel before you attempt to install it. I needed to move the volt gauge about a 1/4" to make it sit correctly. I was going to do an install video but maybe next time.

Would you care to comment on how their speedometer sensor works or installs. I was considering a GPS operated speedometer for a custom cluster build on my 79 but I like the looks of this unit

The speed sensor is simple to install. You just need to route the wires carefully and inside convoluted tubing so that they aren't damaged.
