Dennis Wolff Really, you just have to look at the man. He has "creep" written all over him. Whether he will be cleared is not a matter of his credibility, but of whether the Republicans think they can get away with it. Which I think they think they can, so.... Yeah. There will soon be a rapist in the court, sniggering about how he got away with that, with perjuring himself, and how he now holds one of the most prestigeous and powerful positions in the nation for life. I just hope this comes back to bite them on the ass in the midterms. And that the Democrats that then get elected, grow some actual values and the spine and balls to act accordingly. That is clearly asking too much, so, i guess, one way or another, you're all fucked, anyway.

All of this salacious stuff is significant and perhaps powerful, but can we someday get Congress to close whatever loophole it is that allows people to sail through Senate hearings without answering any goddamn questions? I know we can't compel someone to implicate themselves in crimes, but we can sure as hell make it NON-OPTIONAL to answer simple open-ended questions about what you believe in and all of your previous case histories. Nobody, Pub or Dem, has a *right* to sail through a Senate confirmation hearing without ever answering anything of substance. You want one of the dozen most important jobs in the country? Answer questions or go the hell home.

Rick Ammon, Thank you for your thorough analysis. I might add that the FBI could interview the Federal court workers who are willing to testify regarding Kavanaugh's knowledge of his colleague's behavior. Also, it would make sense for the FBI to speak to classmates of Kavanaugh and Mark Judge to see if these brats habitually got stinking drunk. This might demonstrate a pattern of illegal drunkeness and the inference that they could not remember their behaviors. Add this to the perjury concerning stolen documents and the hiding of 100,000 pages. My god, why can't the GOP find somebody who is clean to take this lifetime job.

It wasn't Feinstein'sstory to tell and confidentiality is often a matter of safety. So, how does Kavanaugh know which party it was that he didn't attend? Did he never go to parties at all? Or does he just simply "remember" never attending the precise party the girl nearly got raped at? Which, of course, would imply either personal knowledge of the unreported sexual assault, or an assumption that attempts to rape were de rigueur at every party.

Your Vote for Trump did not put him in the White House The Electoral College put Donald J Trump in the White House Usually, political parties nominate electors at their state conventions. Sometimes that process occurs by a vote of the party's central committee. The electors are usually state-elected officials, party leaders, or people with a strong affiliation with the Presidential candidates. The Electoral College consists of 538 electors. A majority of 270 electoral votes is required to elect the President. Your state's entitled allotment of electors equals the number of members in its Congressional delegation: one for each member in the House of Representatives plus two for your Senators. The Electoral College vote on December 19, 2016, seven electors voted against their pledged candidates: two against Trump and five against Clinton. A further three electors attempted to vote against Clinton but were replaced or forced to vote again. Ultimately, Trump received 304 electoral votes and Clinton garnered 227, while Colin Powell won three, and John Kasich, Ron Paul, Bernie Sanders, and Faith Spotted Eagle each received one. November 2016 there were 200,000,000 registered voters 65, 844,954 voted for Hillary 62,,979,879 voted for Donald 128, 824,833 total votes cast Who are you? You are not Evangelicals You are not right-wing conservatives You are the 70 million registered voters* That did not vote in Nov 2016 You represent 1/3 of the registered voters The worst voter turnout for a Presidential election in 70 years Would these votes have changed the outcome? * Were any of you the Bernie Sanders base that decided neither Trump nor Clinton would get your vote? Do not be a no-show in Nov 2018 or 2020 In Gallup's most recent analysis, 42 percent of Americans identify as independent, compared with 29 percent who say they are Democrats and 26 percent who say they are Republicans. My biggest problem with Electoral College is that it encourages candidates to campaign in swing states and ignores the rest of the country. Is it time to end the Electoral College www.nytimes.com/2016/12/19/opinion/time-to-end-the-electoral-college.html How states can fix the Electoral College and prevent future Trumps www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2017/11/09/fix-electoral-college-prevent-future-trumps-adopt-runoff-voting-edward-foley-column/839492001/

This nomination should be put on hold until the FBI can investigate this party to determine who attended the party and whether any of them remember Brett Kavanaugh and his character witness, Mark Judge, attending this party since Brett Kavanaugh claims he never attended the party. According to Professor Christine Blasey Ford these two men were drunk, but we don't know if they were blackout drunk. We also don't know if they were drunk prior to attending the party, and we don't know whether they even attended the party since they claim they did not attend the party. That is why they need to each take a polygraph. If they never attended the party then they should be clamoring to take a polygraph to demonstrate to the world that Professor Christine Blasey Ford is wrong. However, if they did attend the party, then I can see why they would not want to take a polygraph since that is their only defense. This is also why this nomination should be placed on hold until the FBI can investigate the claims made. The FBI needs time to investigate whether anyone else who attended this party remembers seeing these two men at the party, and whether anyone remembers if they were drinking or if they were drunk. However, we won't know what they remember, whether they were drunk or what other people who attended this party remember without them taking a polygraph and without the FBI investigating this claim; will we? In light of the revelations in the book, Wasted: Tales of a GenX Drunk, written by Brett Kavanaugh's character witness friend who was present in the room during this incident, and who has described drunken blackouts in his book during this time period, both Brett Kavanaugh and Mark Judge should agree to take a polygraph and must testify under oath, and under penalty of perjury. Even though the victim, Professor Christine Blasey Ford took and passed a polygraph I will be willing to bet that neither man will agree to take a polygraph. Considering the fact that Professor Christine Blasey Ford discussed the incident in detail to a therapist many years after the incident took place, and years before Brett Kavanaugh was nominated to become a Supreme Court Judge, it demonstrates the emotional damage such an incident imposes on a person and it also lends tremendous credibility to her version of what occurred. Because no woman would want to subject herself to the humiliation, scrutiny and ridicule that Professor Christine Blasey Ford will face from the public airing of this incident, and because Christine Blasey Ford described this incident in detail to her therapist years ago, and because Brett Kavanaugh's character witness friend, Mark Judge, described periods of blackout drunkenness during this time period, and described heavy drinking and drunken behavior that led to Bart O'Kavanaugh, AKA: Brett Kavanaugh, passing out drunk after they attended a party together, I believe Professor Christine Blasey Ford's account of what happened! Some people are arguing that people don't always recollect events accurately and therefore Professor Christine Blasey Ford's recollection should not be trusted. If a group of people attended an uneventful party they may not have the same recollection of what happened at that party, but if you ask that same group of people where they were, who they were with and what they were doing when 9/11 occurred and I would bet they could describe in detail where they were, who they were with and what they were doing. A traumatic event has a way of being immortalized in our memories and an attempted rape is a traumatic event! When people are emotionally traumatized through a sexual or physical assault, they remember and relive the assault for the rest of their life! When people drink so much they blackout as Mark Judge admitted to doing in his book, or when people drink so much they vomit and then pass out from being overly intoxicated as Mark Judge says Brett Kavanaugh did, they may not remember how vile their behavior was when they were that intoxicated! I do not believe Brett Kavanaugh or Mark Judge and I completely believe Professor Christine Blasey Ford!

Well said Rick - you've arrived at exactly the same conclusion I did! I might add a further point which I believe supports Doctor Ford's allegation. If she were fabricating this narrative, or, if as is being widely touted it's being concocted by the Democrats as a "Hail Mary" attempt to derail the nomination - why would Professor Ford have placed Mark Judge at the scene knowing that he was and still is a friend of Kavanaugh, thereby allowing him to refute her story? A made up story would most certainly have excluded a potentially hostile witness from her account. It's also interesting as I've just read a few moments ago that that Mark Judge has refused to testify. Either the Whitehouse or Kavanaugh should withdraw his nomination.

8:15 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2018 WASHINGTON (AP) - The Latest on the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh The Justice Department says the sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh "does not involve any potential federal crime" for the FBI to investigate. Well no surprise there ¯\(°_o)/¯ Women's rights are always expendable when Reps are trying to ram through a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. Kavanaugh if confirmed, will likely set women's rights back 100 years. So sexual assault allegations against SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh gets a big yawn from the FBI but hey we will always have those e-mails e-mails e-mails- eh? FBI?

He denies it, she has offered nothing of any sort to prove her allegation and her lawyer says she has nothing that could possibly corroborate the claim.... meaning, you have absolutely no way to prove he's 'lying'.

Anita Hill was telling the truth but what hurt her credibility was the fact she continued working for Justice Thomas after these incidents occurred. She could have resigned and found a new job instead she stayed. and never complained and never filed a complaint withe any legal or governing agency.. That's what made the difference and failed to stop Thomas from being appointed.

15:00 some republicans are saying "boys will be boys, we should forgive behavior like this from a 17 year old." we should NEVER forgive a violent crime against a young girl at any age! would it be ok to commit other crimes at the age of 17? no it wouldn't and rape isn't ok either. i am disgusted by these men perpetuating rape with impunity. i'm also sick and tired of people saying that boys will be boys as an excuse for inappropriate behavior, like they're animals who can't help themselves.

Why does he call her "The Victim" when there is no evidence of a crime? At this point, she is the accuser. I am so disappointed in my country, actually using "recovered memory syndrome" as actual evidence, even in the face of obvious signs of the story not making sense, having too many holes, and even all of the witnesses not remembering any of the events desribed. Democracy Now, You should not even be taking this accusation seriously.

A witness at that party stated it did not happen!Another person stated they knew who Ford was but she was not part of their crowd. The truth is going to be found out.The letter should have been brought up during the background check the Senate was doing. Feinstein already knew this all that time when it could have been private. Leaking it was not the way to do it.She is in trouble. How can you say you were raped at a party but do not know the date, address and other issues. How can you accuse a man of raping you when you do not know the address, the day, or other details. The Senate needs to exam both of these people. They know the right questions to ask. This woman will have come up with some answers.By our Constitution a person is innocent until proven guilty .It is starting to look like this is a political move. This man has been crucified before he has ever had a chance to state his side of the story. We have senators in the senate who will see the truth.
