@Mk2four3

@@bamesjond4128 9X39 AP doesn't rely on velocity for penetration you mong, it relies on the mass of the hardened steel penetrator to punch through armour. And high velocity wasn't the point of 9x39 it's providing special troops a subsonic round capable of being easily suppressed while delivering adequate armor penetration at distances special troops typically operate in.
@user-dq5gf4xi7j
2 жыл бұрын
According to Russian standards, the SP-6 penetrates only the 3rd class of armor protection (which in turn can withstand only 5.45 PS from AK-74 and 7.62 PS from AKM), SPP and 7N12 give only a more reliable penetration of this very 3rd class at a greater distance. So yes, the IIIA class of armor protection according to the American classification SP-6 should, in theory, break through

Excited for the video. Russians try to hype those rounds up as really effective, but I feel there are some limitations on what mass and velocity (that you can push through a modern barrel repeatedly) can achieve without making it too expensive and\or impractical for mass production. US would not be looking into larger cartridges if you could just make 5.56 go through a NIJ level 4 plate easily. Or maybe DoD are stupid bakas, and stalinium cheap practical 5.45 and 9mm do exist, what do I know. But why they are using mostly 7n10 in Ukraine? Also - please check what would be the perceived recoil of those rounds and potential destructive effect on the standard issued barrels(I understand if it would not be possible due to the scarcity of the rounds).
