Every third Saturday in October, International Archaeology Day is celebrated across the globe with activities, events and educational programs in order to commend the contributions archaeology has made to the world. This year, the Archaeological Research Collections (ARC) of the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, and the Office of Archaeological Studies (OAS), along with the Friends of Archaeology (FOA), are celebrating International Archaeology Day through a series of virtual presentations and events culminating on October 16.
For this year’s celebration, the ARC staff at the repository recorded a special presentation done by our former MIAC Curator of Archaeology - Dr. Maxine McBrinn. Children in the archaeological record are largely ignored. In this presentation, Dr. Maxine McBrinn will be examining the lives and material culture of ancestral Pueblo children.
