Hofstede and Trompenaars have been such a huge contribution to our understanding of cultural differences - always a great starting point to understanding these differences, but the way you've fleshed it out with personal experience and insight helps a lot too! Cross Cultural Effectiveness

Hello, Thank you so much. I have traveled and performed musically, to quite a few, quite diverse audiences in different countries also. What I found that most amazingly bonded me to people across all cultures, has been MY MUSIC! Music, especially American music is played everywhere I go, surprisingly. I love being able to travel and perform or play music and become instant friends in a room filled with people whose language I don't necessarily speak. Sharing openly through a translator about songs and life with laughter and vulnerability, added to the depth of comradery in the room. I am getting my MBA currently with an emphasis on Global Management and was wondering how I could put my experience bridging cultural divides in business. Bridging those divides and bringing people together across cultures is something I am very interested in being a part of. Where would you recommend I start? Thanks for the video!

Hi. I like your video very simple and so true. I'm studying a Masters in Crosscultural Communication at Sydney Uni. I have my reservations about the "real world practicalities" of the course. Do you have any plans to visit Australia? I think a nice little lecture from you would be an icing on my cake.

Great information. Thanks. I am looking for information how tone and pitch can influence the understanding cross culturally. Being German myself, married to an American for 28 years, we as a couple still have misunderstandings while communicating! It seems that it is often the tone of voice and gestures of the face. Do you have any available information about this subject?

If culture is so pervasive and a part of everything we do, is it possible to isolate it? From politics, economics etc. Thanks

it is difficult to understand custom, lifestyle, and traditional culture. go to the country, living together for several years…still difficult. Having friends from other cultures makes me more creative. In fresh ways about space and how people create their own world and environment. It is best way to connect between creative thinking and cross-cultural relationships😘🤗😁

Very interesting. I would improve intonation and pronunciation of certain words, though. The speaker pronounces "educated", "splitting", etc., omitting the "t" altogether.
