Intersections examines the often-surprising connections between 9/11 and today’s world. From global industries to individual lives, the attacks marked a fundamental shift for many, altering trajectories in ways both expected and unforeseen. These programs explore these shifts and make visible 9/11’s continuing legacy.
Cris Italia and Carmen Lynch are mainstays of the New York City comedy scene. Lynch is a comedian, actress, and writer. Italia, a former volunteer EMT, is co-owner of The Stand, one of the top comedy clubs in Manhattan. On 9/11, Lynch was working in lower Manhattan and Italia responded to the attacks. Together in conversation with Noah Rauch, Senior Vice President of Education & Public Programs, they reflect on 9/11, how it changed the trajectory of their careers, and the role of comedy in the aftermath of tragedy.
