@TheGame Nothing I said proved your point and everything you subsequently quoted was stuff YOU said. You are entitled to disagree with me, naturally, but I personally rate Foreman (at least later in his career, after he'd become smarter), Frazier, Liston and Norton as all being better than Marciano. Stronger, bigger, faster, more talented and better trained. That isn't Marciano's fault, of course. Also, Marciano wouldn't even make Cruiserweight now, let alone heavy. He was that small. The only true big man he ever fought was Abe Simons, who was pretty much a wildcard-carrying nobody, much like Valuev when David Haye fought him. And I didn't say he had easy fights at all. You're wilfully misquoting me. I said his opponents were not of the calibre of Ali's. That doesn't make them easy, it just makes Ali's greater. Nor did Marciano make opponents look like nothing. Several of his top guys gave him a hard run for his money before he won, or even floored him.

Reading the below comments, I am actually surprised that many were surprised that Ali spoke to Chuck this way. Ali spoke to almost all of his opponents this way. The way Ali spoke about Joe Frazier was far worse. Ali was nice to reporters and fans in fact very charming, and maybe that is why some people have this "Mr. Friendly" image of Ali. However, Ali was extremely cruel to his opponents. Some say he was arrogant. Some say he did this as part of his tactics to mess up his opponents' mind. Regardless why he did what did, he simply wasn't nice to his opponents.

+Chaz Dadkhah "its a fight dude not therapy what do you expect? fighters today use the same tactic to throw off their opponents so its a tactic he perfected and has stood the test of time." Maybe you don't know that boxers didn't use to verbally disrespect opponents like this. Regardless boxing is a gentleman's sport or not, the way Ali treated Frazier was absolutely uncalled for. Just in case you don't know the boxing history, Ali was stripped off his Champion title for refusal to serve in the US Army. It was Joe who lent Ali money when Ali was in financial problem. It was Joe who petitioned to President Nixon for Ali's boxing right to be reinstated. After Ali got his boxing right reinstated -- in no small part of Joe's help, Ali called Joe Frazier a "Uncle Tom", and comparing Joe to an ape...etc leading to their match I don't know about you, but I think it is absolutely disgusting to treat the person who help you out when you are down (lent you money) and stood up for you (petitioned on your behalf) like this person is a piece of trash. *** "A few years later, it was Frazier who lent money to Ali, who had been imprisoned and stripped of his title for dodging the Vietnam War draft. Frazier later petitioned President Richard Nixon to get Ali reinstated into boxing." thinkprogress.org/alyssa/2011/11/08/363895/remembering-joe-frazier-for-who-he-was-not-who-he-wasnt/

+Chaz Dadkhah Later in life, not later in fights. Joe Frazier never got over it, and resent it until his death. You don't know shit what happened, and started to make up stories and fairy tales about them being friends. They are not friends or family friends. Let's be honest about that. "Truth is, I'd like to rumble with that sucker again -- beat him up piece by piece and mail him back to Jesus. ... Now people ask me if I feel bad for him, now that things aren't going so well for him. Nope. I don't. Fact is, I don't give a damn. They want me to love him, but I'll open up the graveyard and bury his ass when the Lord chooses to take him." Friends? Being disrespect toward the person who lend you money and who gave you a second chance in your career -- surely is a great tactic, isn't it? The whole idea of "if you don't like it go watch something else" is intellectually-corrupt. So what next? If you don't like negative campaign, then don't vote? At least everything I wrote is factually correct. How about this? If you don't like what I write, then go read some comic books. How is that?

i think it was staged --but without special details. Ali made all the show, Wepner made raw unstoppable boxer=which he naturally was himself. Ali is great as boxer and as an actor. he is generally great. who had better face than him? i dont remember anybody.
