Bassist Glen Matlock, founding member of the Sex Pistols, recalls how he “accidentally nicked” founding Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman’s award for appearing at a Brian Jones tribute event in 2019 held at Faces / Who drummer Kenny Jones’ Hurtwood Park Polo Club.
The event “Rock ‘n’ Horsepower Presents The Golden Stones Years: A Tribute To Brian Jones” brought together high performance super cars, pukka ponies, polo, and music in support of two charities: The Racehorse Sanctuary, and the David Lynch Foundation.
Among the musical artists who appeared included Kenny Jones & The Jones Gang, The Stranglers, Steve Harley, The Waterboys, Glen Matlock & Tough Cookies with Earl Slick, Joolz Jones, Lola Lennox, and the London Contemporary Voices Choir.
