Bill was a neighbor of mine back in the early 2000's. He's as fine a man you'd ever want for a neighbor. We rode motorcycles a bit together. I never knew for the longest time of his colorful past. He never made a big deal about it. His best stories were those when he was doing body guard work for Hollywood studios. Producers would pay him to keep stars out of trouble while their films were being shot. Long live Bill. I haven't seen him in years but he looks great!

HIs warm up exercises presented in "Dynamic Stretching & Kicking" are a full workout all by themselves lol. Always preferred the side kick myself to. Why risk losing your mobility from a mistimed shin kick that lands on a bend knee? Or even just lands on a shin far more conditioned & accustomed to pain than your own? Especially when you have a heal that has already had a lifetime of constant percussive conditioning you can use at your disposal instead.

I think take the Joe Lewis system and blending with yours is a great thing. It's also a great tribute that keeps Joe Lewis' Legacy alive. I had the honor to go to one of his Seminars at Johnsons School in Spring Lake, NC. I was from Sewells Chinese Kenpo Karate located in Goldsboro, NC. The year was 83 or 83 I believe when I attended the seminar. Owned by my late Sensei George Sewell. I was sorry to hear of Joe's passing in 2012. Glad to hear of your efforts honoring Joe . I always held you gentleman in high regards and as honorable Martial Artists. I hope you receive and read this message. I would consider it a lifetime honor. You , Chuck, Benny, Joe, Bob, Bruce and others are just a few pioneers of Martial Artist I've looked up to over the years. I hope you continue to prosper and live many more years to come.

I love this guy. What a tremendous champion and all aroung great man. I remember the first time I heard of Bill Superfoot Wallace, it was from an article in Black Belt Magazine. I was 15 years old. Then I went to see one of his fights-I was instantly hooked on Martial Arts. But I began with the Korean art TKD, and quickly found out I needed grappling skills too, so I studied JuJitsu and some Judo. This is the man who got me interested in Martial Arts. Thank you Mr. Wallace, you'll always be a champion to me.

Had a couple of seminars with Mr. Wallace several years back and we hit it off great, our sense of humor is what did it. His forte was the round house and hook combo while mine was the outside cresent and ax kicks. Met him again back in 2005 at the Battle of Atlanta. We were standing out in the lobby of the Night of Champions and his cell phone went dead so I lent him mine. He was on the phone for 20 MINUTES. We laughed and he invited me to sit at his table. We had a blast!! He has 2 Superkick dojos here in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Indeed a national treasure, what a great interview Mr. Dan. At 73 he is still taking names and kicking a$$. Inspiring character and I hope, his wish that we can all learn from each other, in the pursuit of our mutual understanding of the martial arts comes to be a true reality. I like his reference of that a punch is a punch, a kick is a kick. Bruce Lee said the same thing. Before studying in a martial art a punch was a punch, a kick was a kick. When he studied in a martial art, he learn that a punch wasn’t just a punch and a kick not just a kick (technique wise). Now that he knows martial arts a punch is a punch, a kick is a kick. RESPECT!

@ArtofOneDojo
5 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what it's like to talk to him. He does not project ego at all, but he displays a lot of confidence which is entirely different. He just has this logic to what he says that makes a ton of sense. During this day and in the cut away footage, he was teaching a class on "Jab, Cross, Hook". The room was full of black belts who all know this combo, but he pulled out so many observations, logic, and tactics that made everyone think twice about it. He has this intricate knowledge about the body and the mechanics of fighting, that he doesn't NEED the ego, because he has the intelligence. The rest of it is fun to him. You can tell he's about friendship, and building bridges, and the fun of competition, and not about a lot of the pride and BS that taint the arts. And you'd HAVE to take your best shot, because HIS best is gonna do some damage :)

Bill is a great guy, I spent time with him 30 years ago. He was a humble guy! I was at Ringside for his 2nd fight against Joe Corley. I thought it was an exhibition , a play fight. I asked a dear friend who was a PKA champion at the time if the fight was legit. He said he believe it was, well once the bell rung and the first punch and kick was thrown. There was no doubt that the fight was real. Bill as well as Joe were true competitors! If Bill Wallace were a young man today, he would be known as an MMA world champion. He had a wrestling background, a judo background and a karate background!

Everyone talks about Bruce Lee when this man is the real deal in terms of real fights and competitions ( unbeaten world champ ) and not choreographed movie scenes were the star of the film wins ! Bill Superfoot Wallace the best ever and that is a fact ( not bad for a man who only kicked with one leg ).

I agree kind of like Chuck Norris being compared to Bruce Lee, everyone is always trying to argue who would win in a real fight. Well duh, Chuck would tear Bruce apart in a matter of seconds, Chuck was the real deal and Bruce was a showman/actor (BIG DIFFERENCE). I think Bruce was a lot like Elvis Presley he just had something that people was attracted to, his looks and the way he moved maybe. But in reality Bruce was like i said a showman/actor and very good at just that, were Chuck actually earned his spot by actually competing and kicking ass!!
