They make a wonderful team - Refn and Ms. Fanning- like Tarantino and Uma Thurman or David O. Russell and Jennifer Lawrence. Always nice to see a magical artistic bond like this

wow...where do I begin? The interviewer, Emma Krupp, must be one of the best I've seen, ever! She looks so young but very mature and ... yeah! Very interesting questions and answers, both Nic and Elle seems very comfortable. I love how Nic says that Elle has "the thing" and I love Elles reaction to it.

I thought his comments at the end, about how narcissism has gone from a taboo to a necessary quality is very telling. What is good will be called evil and what is evil will be called good. This film is potent commentary.

Elle Fanning is so smart and well-adjusted. Around 6:57 she has a very interesting take on her character. You can tell Nicolas is mad about her. His entire persona is different when she is around... just compare this to some of his other interviews. 10:54 is very telling.

i think the difference between Tarantino and Winding Refn is the fact that Tarantino just does these violent films for the fun of it.. he loves filming blood and gore and has a super good time doing it... while Winding Refn on the other hand is completely serious about that stuff. which is chilling and disturbing, but makes him more sincere at the same time. i love both filmmakers, but Refn, in my opinion, is the deeper one, the one blooming in his art

I read somewhere that Tarantino hated DRIVE and when listing movies he loved and hated that year, named Drive as “Nice Try” or something subtly chastising. I like both their films for different reasons, and they both have amazing films (Pusher II, Bronson, Reservoir Dogs, Inglourious Basterds) and not-so-good films (Only God Forgives, Death Proof) but I appreciate how directors carry themselves in person, and I feel like I agree with Tarantino a lot on movie movies he likes/dislikes, but I think he misses the mark a lot of the time but he talks about his opinions of other movies as if they are fact, to the point that people are forced to agree with him

Winding directed one of the most talented actresses, in one of WORST movies of the year!!. He may know about lenses & focal length, but I think he doesn't know jack sh-t about plots, characters, script structure, dialog, etc. Who the hell was the idiot who actually approved this script? I worked for 3 years doing nothing but reading scripts & manuscripts & if I had approved this in the script stage at the agency I worked for, I would've gotten my head handed to me!
@marcogianesello6083

that's why he's a great filmmaker and you a script consultant, no offense, but if that's your definition of what film is about and agencies back that up, then no bloody wonder hollywood is fucking dying

Look, I feel pretty sad that Elle Fanning, as young as she was, ended up working with this creep. I hope he did nothing to her. A lot of time has now passed and she seems fine, I hope she actually is and she actually was. I’m 17 and I don’t know whether, if I were an actor, I’d be able to work with him or if I’d feel uneasy (because of his creepiness, I’m fine with his awkwardness, being awkward too). Also, don’t make me even get started about child acting (I indeed know that she started out as a child actor), to me it’s just messed up! Also, he looks zooted. Where was he looking at? Was the interviewer so far or what?
