Great interview even with the internet issues. I totally understand. Cubby, you made the right call, in my mind and you can always ask to go back to get another shot at it. Accidents happen and you handled it like a true champion and whoever says otherwise is someone who has not been injured bad. The difference between hurt and injured= Hurt you can drive on, injured- you got to call a medic. You are one tuff dude, and this is coming from a Marine and US Army Retired Ranger who has been injured pretty bad. Mikey, outstanding interview and thank you for the links to his Facebook and his website. Both you and him are positive people and great to listen to. I love the way you handle the nay sayers and negative people.

"Memoirs of his survival fantasies...." perfect summary. Teimojin tried to set up an interview with "Kevin Hart" and he made a bunch of demands/excuses so it never came to fruition. Thank you guys for being genuine. If you ever turn your clothes into pontoons and stuff your clothes with debris.....I would totally watch and see how it turns out for you.

get a $30 heat-gun and it's very easy to use milk-jug plastic to make sheaths for all of your broadheads, guys. Dont remove the sheath until you're ready for the shot. Wash off the plastic with dishsoap, let it dry, then dip in bleach. That gets rid of the milk-stink. I've bee making arrow sheaths since 1965. Back then, I just used corrugated cardboard and carefully slipped the arrowhead into the stuff. The milk-jug plastic is much safer for you and thick Kydex plastic is much safer yet.

i got questions do they fly you to the orientation and home ive watched every episode and season and it seems like they tend to portray folks different depending on how long they stay out and how they tap how long do you stay at base camp if you tap out how long do they keep you in recovery after the show how long are there before being dropped off i had a ben pearson bow back in the day but due to a shoulder injury and a back injury im not sure i could shoot a recurve bow anymore i know the hoyt heat and the oneida strike eagle ive got i cant shoot much or well anymore

@rdnkrfnk yes they do fly you in and out. And I honestly believe they try to portray everyone the best they can and still stick to the story they are trying to put together for TV. Believe it or not I wasn't always just a beat down guy out there, but they focused on the struggle instead of every victory. Recovery is very different for everyone. I only stayed a week or so. They kept me until my feet weren't constantly swollen and until the risk of refeeding was over. I believe Cubby said his was a few weeks. I'm not sure how long season 11s base camp orientation was, but ours was 2 weeks I think. I have a bear Kodiak and a samick sage. It is hard to shoot them with injuries to your back. I have had some back problems myself. And sometimes I get really sore if I shoot for an extended period of time (target shooting).

I dont know why people still bother with a bow. 6 years ago, Fowler ok'd it with the producers to take a slingbow. With 3 piece take down arrows, you can have your projectile weapon on your person. Not doing so cost Kielyn half a million $. Also, when you're making your five ceramic, 1.5 gallon each pots and their lids, make 50+ 1/2" baked clay balls as ammo for the slingbow. Then you need not lose or damage arrows, or waste hours looking for lost arrows. Most of them dont have brains enough to take 6 flu-flu-fletched arrows with Zwickey judohead blunts. which dont get lost or damaged. The cross wires of the judohead arrow tips can become fishhooks., if you know anything. Because they are too damned lazy-arrogant to look at these channels and comments, they just keep on starving-out 1-2 months earlier than need-be.

@user-ci2mn1oy3w fowler took a SLING SHOT, not a sling bow. He showed off his skill against a snowman. Only one piece arrows are allowed. I know this for a fact. I have played this game. I have asked about weapons and projectiles myself.

@@mikeyheltonjr dont insult my intelligence. I never said fowler TOOK a slingbow I said he cleared it with the producers to do so in the future. I sent you the link before, but I'll do so here. why would anyone care if your arrows are one piece? They are already letting you get away with bs like carbon fiber arrows. kzitem.info/news/bejne/uouExWieqmWpfKw

@@SonnyCrocket-p6h : Your link is 6 years old. Now is now, not 6 years ago. There was a german version of alone this year with exakt the same rules as they now are, and no slingbows allowed. It does not matter, if they were allowed years ago, today a slingbow is not allowed anymore.
