Wow.. Chase is such an admirable person… The way he allowed Maxx to be upset and just supported him and calmed him down, that is truly the way a big brother is supposed to act.

Maxx just wanted to say as a father of 4 not being their for my wife and kids is very scary but NOTHING is better then seeing them score a goal in a soccer game or do something awesome like land a kick flip and get sooo excited by it or that moment when they are still young enough to climb in your lap and give a hug. Those are some of my favorite memories of my life and based on the stories of your dad he would say he had to of cherished those things until his last breath. I get being a father can be scary because it 100% is but it can also be the most amazing thing in the world. You just have to do the best you can while you have breath in your lungs.

I have always known you were from VA and felt connected to you because of the similarity, but I always thought it was Richmond. I am literally from Roanoke area so close to Biome’s Mill I literally couldn’t believe it! Also hearing you describe the loss of your dad and his illness sounds very similar to my mom with hers now. It is a very normal thing to not understand at any age, so doing it young is so normal. It’s so tough, but grief takes time and it is never on a time frame. 💛

You've come so far and achieved so much when most people could have let the burden you carry be their crutch that prevents success. Allow yourself the joy of creating a family of your own. I'm sure this sounds condescending coming from a stranger but, maybe that is part of the Ever Forward mantra. Don't let the past be the burden that keeps you and those you love from happiness. There is nothing better in this life than seeing your children grow and succeed. Allow yourself that happiness.

Never forget, it's okay to cry; but know your father is most assuredly, immensely proud of you both and who you've both become!! You will see him again, no pain, no worry; perfect. God Bless you both! I lost my uncle to ALS in 2015, he survived with the deadly disease for just 8 months. Passing just after Thanksgiving the same year. He was just 51 years of age, retired ATC (Air Traffic Controller). He never smoked, hardly drank; and was healthy otherwise. Life just isn't fair, and we're left to question Why.. Why now, and Why them.. a mystery to us all when death rears its ravishing, relentless head.

Hey man, This message has to do with my experience with ALS. I just finished listening to your podcast with your brother and it was powerful. Hearing how both of you cope and got through that time. My grandfather passed away in February 2020 from ALS. The 2 year process of his health decline was terrifying. He started out with pancreatic cancer and was told he beat it. But was immediately showing other symptoms. He couldn’t lift his arms up to grab things out of the pantry. That’s when we forced him to get some more tests and he was diagnosed with ALS just weeks after beating cancer. My grandfather was my bestfriend. 2 big moments stuck in my head from that time. When he was first diagnosed with ALS, I was working for Doug Miller for his companies and I drove up to see my grandparents in southern Maryland. My grandmother was outside washing one of the cars and I was sitting inside talking to my grandfather about what was happening and what plan we were going to have. Mid conversation my grandmother screamed and we both ran outside. She had slipped and fell. My grandfather couldn’t even help her up so I picked her up. He started crying and it was crushing him realizing he couldn’t be there for her anymore. The 2nd was when he was in his last few weeks, he got baptized. He was in hospice care at there home and bed ridden at this point. Couldn’t move, barely speak. He started crying as the baptism took place. That time was some of the hardest for me. Every year, we put on a car show as a fundraiser for ALS research . (My grandparents have restored antique vehicles their entire lives). Basically I wanted to say, thank you. I’ve been following the content you’ve been putting out for going on 10years. And that podcast just made it clear to why I do. You are human and completely transparent.
