I have to say... For some reason, video actual-play episodes have never been able to hold my attention. Audio podcasts? Fine. Video? Can't do it. Until the first installment of this scenario. Since then I've been bingeing Glass Cannon videos. These guys are amazing. And Seth, you're always fantastic, so this is just the ultimate in actual-play presentations. Thank you for introducing me to this group.

Same for me, tbh. Although I’m pretty picky even with podcasts. This and The Lovecraft Tapes have so far been the only ones able to grab my attention. Probably because they’re pretty similar in tone/themes.

@@sub-jec-tiv I'll check them out. I'm not a fan of over-the-top productions, either, when it comes to actual plays. And what I've identified after watching GCN for over a year now, is that I'm mostly drawn to how much fun these folks are obviously having. More reminescent of actually playing with friends at a table than any other I've seen (to date, anyway).

I had heard there was a variation of 'The Haunting' that kind of has that particular vein of flavor to it for a modern setting. Darn, I was hoping when he started saying "trick of the light" that he was going to reference the Men in Black scene about swamp gas catching the light of Venus off a weather balloon, or however it went. Man, if the opportunity came up to get art done of the scene of the four of you following the trail as Chuck was filming, I might be willing to spend money on it. All of you wearing Go-Pros, reporter with a freshly discarded jacket stalking forward with a hunting rifle, cameraman with on hand steadying the camera and the other holding a leatherman knife, producer white knuckle holding a tire iron, and the intern with a chain wrapped around his arm and bolt cutters in the other hand. That was great. I love the CoC system and I am currently playing in a Mask of Nyrlothotep (sp?) campaign. However, I am looking forward to getting my hands on the new 1.0 version of Mothership, which is horror in space. Very rules lite, but with enough crunch to satisfy. I wonder if anyone here has played that system, either the beta or the in development pieces that are trickling out ahead of the official release (which should be autumn of this year I think).

@SSkorkowsky
2 жыл бұрын
I was either taking or reviewing my notes. In investigative games with lots of character and location names and dates, you pretty much have to. Otherwise you'll forget something important. Or I might be writing down an idea I want to mention once the Game Master and everyone are done speaking.

Hell, I had a guy at my table who'd record the session's audio and use it to do a one-page synopsis for everyone after each game. And that wasn't even an investigation or political campaign where you might really need that level of augmented recall available.
