When swapping an LS engine (4.8, 5.3, 6.0, ls1, ls2, ls3, ls6, ls7, ls9) into a 1988-1998 Chevy Truck, the donor vehicle wiring harness must be modified to work with the swapped vehicle or a new harness must be made. This video shows where I connected those wires needed to not only make the engine run, but for all your gauges to work as well on a 1995 Chevy Cheyenne. This worked for me with my particular combination. Don't cut ANYTHING until you have the truck running and everything working!
PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS HOW I MADE THESE CONNECTIONS ON MY '95 CHEVY TRUCK 4.3 V6/auto, WITH AN '01 TAHOE ENG/TRANS. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A "HOW TO" ON EVERY OBS OR '88-'98 TRUCK SWAP. THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS (IF NOT MORE) COMBINATIONS OF YEARS OF TRUCK AND OF ENGINE AND TRANSMISSIONS THAT CAN BE MADE. Over the years GM made changes to each truck and it's combination of drive train (some small and some not so small) . You are embarking on a BIG project, do your research, find wiring schematics for your truck and donor vehicle to guide you through the process. There are many "experts" or "wanna be experts" out there. BE SAFE, HAVE FUN! AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST. Although this is how I did it, there is more than one way to wire your project. Hopefully you can use this video as a tool to help guide you in the right direction. But, as I said, it is but one direction.
