Here is more dodgy advice for INTP's. Play more dungeons and dragons and make sure you are the Dungeon master. You will have to make quick decisions. You'll have to talk in front of a group of people and organize like hell. At the same time, you will love creating a world full of characters and stories as you logically piece the laws of the world together. INTP's love their comfort zones but life will constantly push you to get out of it. This is always uncomfortable. Try to think about how you can use this uncomfortable situation and turn it into knowledge. Find a way to apply it to your hobby. Take control over the task instead of the other way around.

Taking action is hard for INTP. So true... You realized it after a huge amount of unfinished projects or just actions. I don’t want to continue, because everyone knows it very well here. I just wanted to mention one interesting thing that occurred with me in one of the darkest period of my life. I lost my job and I didn’t know what to do with my life in general, I was broken. When everything reached its boiling point, something had changed in my mind. Everything became very clear and I reached very different state of my mind, I named it “voice of common sense”. It was like an adviser. This state guided me to healthy actions. It was very smart and reasonable and I didn’t have any contradiction or doubts as any INTP has. It was some sort of an advanced version of my mind. Have you experienced something like this? How to explain this? How to manage it consciously? Yeah, typical INTP’s questions.😂

Of course after the draft, I was supposed to start on the actual project and I started sketching out the cat on my project paper but it just didn't look right. So I kept erasing and redrawing and getting new pieces of paper until my teacher stepped in and said that it didn't have to be perfect. I did, in fact, start crying out of frustration at that point, which just made me feel worse. Anywayyy, long story short, I got to trace that initial draft onto the actual project paper and the drawing is hanging up in the living room. This has been my TEDtalk

Being self critical and trying to remove human aspects are major issues for me. Regarding your example, whether I get too heated in an argument or even if I remain calm and objective in an argument (which is preferable) I look back and over analyze things to the point where I make myself uncomfortable no matter what. Very seldom am I up to my standards, and when I actually am, it’s hard for me to get off my high horse. Then I conclude that it’s best to just eliminate interactions all together. And sensory aspects of being human are the most uncomfortable for me. Because of this, I don’t always take the best care of myself physically (forget the eat, brush my hair, do my nails, etc.) because I often see it as irrelevant, forget about it, or it’s an obstacle to my never-ending train of thought. I also don’t like being in a human body so that’s an issue. (😂)

I've noticed that only about 1/4 of the INTPs who are responding have 'edited' their comments. This could mean the following: That some did edit, then cut/copied the comment, deleted what was on the screen, and then repasted so as to hide any sign of errors; that not all those posting are INTPs; that certain INTPs have been remiss in spell-checking themselves enough times to find spelling errors and fixing them. INTPs who haven't edited, are you SURE that your post was sufficiently spelled and composed according to KZitem comment section standards? ;)

Cuz that's not anywhere near precision* (Edit: I'm working on submitting comments in under a week, but that means I did it not-the-best-my-brain-could-ever-possibly-make)

This is such great advice!! Even for me an infp and i can definitely relate to not being able to explain to people that all i did today was sit here and think. And it felt incredibly fulfilling and having to force myself out of that to do "real world" things is very very tiring. Also, the whole charm during argument things reminded me of a quote i was told by an ENTJ that helped them deal with "humans". If you are right and you are an asshole, people will remember you were an asshole. If you are right and you are gracious, people will remember you were right.

Good advice, i discovered the power of Fe, after a long time of bashing people over their heads with the truth (as i saw it). But i discovered something else. An INTP truth is as good as the data he absorbs and process. So a lot of sorting through vasts amounts of data and filtering them is required - that's why people call us lazy- cause we need to read and process, every day, lots and lots of information. Also that's where our insecurity is coming from: is what i know really correct? PS: i have a question for you (Nathan) - are you an INTX type? Maybe even INTP?

It’s okay to have high standards for yourself and life in general. Nothing wrong with that. The issue comes when they don’t appreciate what they have and what they’ve achieved (which may seem brilliant for all the world and mediocre for them). Even if anything in their lives meets their standards, they are never happy and satisfied. The first thing the Intp need to learn is to appreciate their efforts and things in general only then they’ll feel satisfied and motivated. Off course this is from my infp perspective.

My tactic is to smile and act jovial when I’m talking and especially if I’m talking about some deep issue that may upset people. You can see that they react to the positive emotional body language and hardly notice that your discussing the morality of why you can’t eat babies.

When I was a kid and a teen you could say I lived inside my mind. My mind was my favourite place in the world. Then I went through a short period of depression during my early twenties, and now I'm okay, but after that I don't feel as comfortable in my mind. Because when I started thinking, I remembered episodes of my depression and I got sad and angry every single time. It doesn't happen to me now, I can think for hours without getting sad, but I got used to trying to shut my thoughts doing mundane stuff like listening to music or doing jigsaws. I also walk a lot. The thing is I never get lost in my thoughts as I used to, but I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing. Also three months ago I ended a relationship that lasted 8 years (basically all my adult life). I broke up with my ex because I felt I don't love him anymore, but now I realise how lonely I really am, because he was the only person I could trust with my thoughts and the only one who really knew me. Since we broke up I feel I'm alone with my thoughts again, and I'm scared to the point I consider getting back together with him. And now I'm so lonely I use old youtube videos as my personal diary 😅

Watching this and taking notes, since we’re basically the same except for different levels of cuddliness. - ENTP

Good point! ENTPs could benefit from this too but they'll get they're own video at some point as well ~ Nathan

Not an INTP, nor do I have an INTP in my inner circle. However, I do really enjoy your INTP videos. It's like learning about centaurs or something equally mysterious, but the knowledge is way more applicable.
