The aerodynamics behind how airplanes fly may sound a little daunting, but fear not, YOU can understand the magic too! In this video I'll cover the basics of how lift, thrust, and drag are generated, and how they're controlled by various flight surfaces like the ailerons, rudder, and elevators. Don't worry, this is a beginner-friendly introduction to the basics of aerodynamics and how planes fly. And once you're ready, we'll even dive into topics like what happens in a stall, and why can't airplanes fly higher? For the aviation geeks (like me) out there, I'll also talk about wing aspect ratio, wake turbulence, indicated airspeed, and how they work or affect flight characteristics!
