Thanks for the vid. The school's automotive department and programs offered look very promising. I wish NJ offered the Honda PACT program.
@CaptainRon1

No problem. If you would like, in the description of my video over the PACT program, you could email justin morgan and he could help find a school close to you that offers that program. If you're able to as well, they offer financial aid to people attending sinclair from out of state to assist with housing.
@vanquishstorm3806

@@CaptainRon1 Thank you for the insight. They do offer the Honda PACT program in neighboring states nearby NJ but the tuition costs are double for out-of-state students. In order to be eligible for in-state tuition costs you must reside in that particular state where the school resides for a minimum of twelve monthes prior to enrollment.
@CaptainRon1

Yup, same thing goes for Sinclair. I want to say that even being out of state, I only paid somewhere in the ballpark of 20K for the entire 2 years that I attended and we had people that attended that were from the neighboring states as well.
@vanquishstorm3806

@@CaptainRon1 20K for a two year manufacturer based program isn't too bad considering what some for-profit one year institutes charge. Are tools/box included in the tuition costs or you have to provide your own? I'm assuming for the apprenticeship portion working at a dealer you would have to provide your own tools/box.
@CaptainRon1
5 жыл бұрын
@@vanquishstorm3806 no, you'll have to supply your own tools, however they give you a huge list of tools to get but I got by with just basic hand tools. The school has special tools that would be needed for certain tasks.

What are you actually looking to do in your career? Dealer? Independent? Own your own shop? What is your current level of experience and what school are you going to attend at what cost?
@CaptainRon1

Hamster, you can get into working at a shop or dealership without going to school, however some places will require training that will take more than 2 years to complete due to on site training classes. School just stream lines the training.

Absolutely. I started this program with the knowledge of how to change oil and came out with everything I needed to know to be productive in an automotive shop. Would definitely recommend.

The Master Apprentice do you know if the tools are supplied or do you need to bring your own? Also can you explain the different dealership mechanic levels to me ? Like in your video you mentioned level 1,2 and 3
@CaptainRon1
4 жыл бұрын
As for tools, hand tools are not supplied. You will be given a list of tools you will need for class. Mostly its sockets, ratchets, wrenches and a multimeter. There's a few other tools needed but most of the other tools are supplied by the school. As for the levels, when you go thru the courses, you progress through training. When the program is completed, you will exit with level 2 completed, then it's on the student to finish training to complete level 3 requirements. Depending on your training level depends on what type of warranty work you're able to perform.

The Master Apprentice thanks dude for the info i follow you and rustbelt and now mcbake you guys have great content. One more question i work full-time this program at sinclair do they offer night classes and how does that 8 week internship work im just wanting a degree for a plan b if something happens at my current job i have something to fall back on
@CaptainRon1
4 жыл бұрын
@@Jordan-fg7ek so they dont offer it at night, it's a day course. With the internship, it's an 8 week at school and 8 week at a dealership semester. (1 semester = 16 weeks) so that being said, you'll want to make sure that you're in a position where while you're at school, you have something to support you (whether it's a part time job or some other means)

It's part of the associated degree that you get with the program. You end up with an associates degree in automotive science.
