For me the look script somehow doesn't work as intended, as though it rotates the gameObject the WASD input doesn't "rotate". As in, when i'm turning 90° the "S" key is now "facing forward"

If you cannot get movement: in the Input Action Map, I unchecked the "Mouse and Keyboard" control scheme for each key and it worked.

To change fully to the new input system if you're having issues: - Go to "Edit" in the menu bar and select "Project Settings" from the dropdown menu. - In the Project Settings window, locate and click on "Player" under the "Editor" section. - In the Inspector window, scroll down to the "Other Settings" section. - Look for the "Active Input Handling" dropdown menu. If it's set to "Both" or "Input Manager," Unity is still using the old input system. To switch to the new input system, change the value to "Input System Package (New)." - Once you've selected the "Input System Package (New)" option, Unity will prompt you to restart the editor for the changes to take effect. Click on the "Restart" button when prompted. After Unity restarts, the new input system will be enabled for your project.

Can confirm like other commenters - it does not seem to work in latest Unity version when switching to the new input system. Made my FSM precisely like in the tutorial, followed all of the steps, and nothing.

@@HutongGamesLLC Currently running the latest LTS: 2021.3.9f1. Also I've tried swapping between the .NET Framework and .NET Standard APIs too as I've heard that can make a difference, as well as removing/reinstalling the new input system package (currently on v1.4.2). I've tried a bunch of other stuff too including using the new default methods for the input actions asset, as well as re-populating it from scratch. Active input handling in project settings is definitely set to "Input System Package (New)" as well.

Latest PlayMaker Unity 2022.3.17f1 LTS and the vectors not working I can't move at all definitely I'm going to switch back on old inputs you was my only chance but not working EDIT: I deleted everything and started from the beginning for some reason now is working...it scared because I post it online : )

I don't know where to look for the file to download ..... Would it be possible if you could make a tutorial with animator + cinemachine? I am having a hard time understanding how to use blend tree/ animator with playmaker. like how to tell playmaker to switch between different animations etc

honestly I find it simpler and faster to use the classic input manager, this is too cumbersome ... maybe it will be more customizable but for now it seems to me that it only complicates things

To be fair this is very broad advice, but in reality there are times when a GetKey action works just fine. The main reason one might want to stay away from it is because it's a very explicit way of defining input, and if you wanted to change the controls for something you would have to go through and replace every instance of the action (or change the action's script altogether). Whereas a GetButton or other input actions that rely on some other layer of defining inputs (like the new input system or Rewired) , which means you could just go to your system that defines inputs and change it once, which would then change those controls globally.

There is a relative to in the player move FSM, not sure why this didn't show up! Just pop the player camera in that and it works.

I don't understand how to move the character in a 2D-platformer using the new input system actions... Whenever I use the Get Move Vector-action and extract the X value from that and use the Set Velocity 2d-action in order to make the player move, it works fine. However, if I steer into a wall when I'm in the air, the character stops entirely and sort of "clings" to the wall until I let go of one of the move buttons. Does anyone know of the reason for this?

Hello, I'm using Playmaker version 1.9.5 and Unity 2021.3 with newest input system. But it has the problem making Controller Simple Move not working - character not move, I debug Move vector value I see that Store Move Vector have changed value when I use WADS but Move Vector not. I also open script code to see code inside, not specially. May you explain for me about this problem, why it happen to me? thank you so much

after I installed this, i could't control what was in my game anymore? So basicly when i added the transision "MOUSEDOWN" on a game object the transission didn't happen. it just stayed in state 1 and I don't understand why.

Unfortunately the new input system doesn't fire the system MOUSE events. Instead add a UI > Event System with an InputSystemUIInputModule to the scene, and add a Physics Raycaster to the Main Camera. You can then use the UI System Events like UI POINTER DOWN etc. We'll make this clearer in an update, and do a tutorial video!

Player Input Get Float action does not return a float for a "1D Axis" Action Type "Value", Control Type "Axis"... Am I missing something? Is it because instead of having an every frame option they are checking on update?
