I've been a Senior Laravel engineer for 2 years and regular PHP engineer before that. Your videos have boosted my confidence a lot. I didn't realize how much I already knew but wasn't able to put to words. I contribute a lot more now in meetings and it shows. Thank you for helping my career!

You really are the best..Most of what you covered in your PHP courses are not in any other place on KZitem. Thanks Gio for dishing out the very best lecture series in PHP.. However I need to point out something, Your pace was too fast for most sections of the courses, I understand you probably was doing that in other to convey as many information as possible in the shortest time possible.. but for some of us who don't learn at a very fast pace, it will be difficult to process a lot of details all at once. But your pace on this particular video is cool, wish u can maintain it for subsequent videos. Keep up the good work, 20k subs loading....

Thank you. Yes I was doing the editing wrong in previous videos cutting out too much of the silence which made it sound like I wasn't taking breaks between sentences.

I had been waiting to learning something about display. I'm happy to have this introduction. Looks like there's more to learn here but this really helps to introduce us. I'm glad and I appreciate Gio. I'm not too far away anymore. And I'm anticipating the 4 extra videos to come. Thanks Gio

I have been following your course for a month or so. Great course. Also want to mention the video production quality has improved immensely. May I ask if you edit your own videos? if so which software do you use to edit & where do you source the stock visual elements

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't used Twig a lot, only a little bit which is why I'm not comfortable making in-depth videos on it yet. Once I learn it myself well then I'll consider making in depth videos on it 👍

Great stuff. I think I prefer Blade's syntax a little bit more over Twig's. They both look better than raw php mixed with html imo.

Yea, Twig takes a bit of getting used to. Blade is simpler & feels more PHP-ish

Hello sir, you're using singleton() method in the. container class, but I think you didn't teach on how to create that method on the DI-Container lesson ? Please let me know about it.
@ProgramWithGio

Hey, that's because it's a feature of Laravel's container which we are using here. In my DI container lesson we implement a very simple container. Singleton just returns the same one instance of object regardless of how many times you try to resolve it

Untill now I've only seen solutions that use php based templates, mostly wordpress plugins. I don't know if I like this better. Templates are normally not that complicated and I'm comfortable enough using php to not make it very attractive to learn a new tag language for only templating, but I can see how this is used in projects, so perhaps I will try this too at some point.

And using PHP templates is perfectly normal & fine. I personally like both Twig & blade and use both. Blade is easier & flexible, still let's you write PHP code if needed.

Sounds like a misconfiguration. DM me on Twitter and send me screenshots of your config or if you can put your code in GitHub repo and send me link I can review and help troubleshoot.

At timestamp 13.28, configuring the docker is what i meant earlier that there are too much dependencies and addons that makes development more tedious. These are extra loads that we could avoid adding on to the time and cost of delivery when considering all the platforms we use (example Nuxt, React, Laravel etc). Just our viewpoint and concerns that technology may be going into a mess with too many people creating too many components which in turn confuses solution developers.
@ProgramWithGio
Жыл бұрын
I respectfully disagree. Dependencies are ok as long as you pick the right dependencies. Otherwise you would have to build a lot of things from scratch and essentially reinvent the wheel. Using right tools for the right job is important to be more efficient. It doesn't add much load and doesn't impact performance all that much so I wouldn't be concerned with that.
