As you mentioned earlier, lighter wheels would improve performance. NICEEEE! Personally I would loop the rear with a cage too and tie in the back of the strut towers. Remember you have an almost 4000lbs car pushing now to this strut towers and you only braced them on one side where as before, even though it was sheet metal, it was braced all around. So I would do a rear bash bar where you can mount the lights to and also screw onto the front cage and then also mount the rear strut towers to the bash bar which can use the stock mounts at the rear which you shortened but would be now perfect to mount the bash bar. This way all hard mount points of the Tesla are again together making this rigid as hell. You can also mount the charg port then at the back on the vertical riser bars from front cage to bash bar. I hope you understand what I mean :-)

Cool project guys but having built an NSX with a roll cage I wanted to suggest some 3M bonding agent that's made specifically for bonding different metals. Use that under the steel plates for your cage footplates as the steel plates against the aluminium will over time start to react with each other and the bonding agent helps with strength but mainly with the chemical reaction between different metals. Might be too late now, but just in case it's not thought I'd say. Looking forward to see how you get on...... loving it.

Have it go from the bumper up to where those orange wires are so you still see the silver thing and the orange wires (just cuz they look bad ass). 2. Replace the wheels with wider racing wheels, to complete the look. I’m picturing like a nascar looking wheel. 3. Wrap some tubing around the front just to carry the bad ass exo-look around the whole car (maybe use thinner walled tubing, or aluminum to save weight because ultimately this part’s just for looks). 4. Add some pink and turquoise neon under glow. And some pink and turquoise paint around the car somewhere. Maybe paint the roll cage, or the side sill, or maybe just the under glow. Im a tesla guy I’m trying get a 2021 model s long range not plaid but still decent for daily driver the reason I kinda want it because of 400 miles range it has literally perfect for me because right now I drive a lot in my accord and now I need gas soon but that range can last me good.

@@Toxic2T why not both? I love my EVs and my FA5 for entirely different reasons, the car community needs to lose the hate. It used to be v8 guys and 4cyl guys hating each other, now the ICE guys and the EV guys hate each other.

You should make a carbonfiber front end, I'm sure that even tho that's a few extra pounds of weight, its gonna help a lot towards aero and will probably only give you guys even faster times than you will with how it sits now. Still sick tho!

Indeed. The area above the front bumper looks like it would add a lot of drag. A carbon fiber part would be perfect to put over this, and maybe mount the headlights to.

Not to be super critical but like when chopping a top, should tack weld in some reinforcements before cutting the top off. Maybe you did or maybe the Tesla chassis won’t flex at all without the top. Either way looks like fun can’t wait to see it go down the track

Time for Lexan front window , lighter wheels. Is there any weight benefit to removing the stock air suspension? Might be worth checking. You now have the most consistent / reliable 8 second car.

I would want to tuck the bar above the windshield either just behind it or below it. Get it out of the airflow from the windshield. Plus it could be used to reinforce the window.

You guys have probably thought about this, but losing that much weight will make it change suspension geometry as well no? Hard to tell with no body. But might help stability if you get it checked?

Needs more reinforcement on the wing and rear shock towers. Also needs some fiberglass or carbon fiber paneling to keep the drag down and the downforce up. At least some diffusers and spoilers to start

This is the best damn Tesla build EVER! If you had quick exchange batteries with smaller capacity ( but equal discharge) you could loose a ton of weight and have the perfect electric vehicle. This build currently weighs more than my 68 Ford full-size big block country sedan wagon, your cage probably won't add much weight relative to your build this far. You clearly understand where the weight still is. Would Formula E batteries work with your Tesla electronics?
@MrDmedina99

How about turning it into a track car since there’s not much left to do for the drag strip! Change the suspension, rims/tires and brakes! Maybe add a little aero? Idk but it would def be one of a kind for sure!
