I bought one yesterday for 4k with 123k miles. I couldn't find one bad review on this yr make and model so I chose it over a 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 100k miles for 4k

This MDX had burned exhaust valves. The cylinder heads have been removed and disassembled in more recent videos: kzitem.info/door/PLTOFtJfRmbkZ75_OI4O4k--YSMfpPZELC

Thank you for posting your project on the MDX. I've been searching for a used MDX. I don't really work on cars myself. Price ranges are all over the place, especially after the pandemic. Based on reviews, I've been mostly focused on 2010-2013 models, most have close to 100k miles and around the $15k price range. Saw a 2008 base model with 71,000 miles, but they are asking $13k. Is that a good deal, given the low miles, or am I better off with something like a 2013 for about $15k with about 100k miles. What major items would I likely need to address at the 100k miles. Timing belt, water pump initially come to mind. Any input and expense estimates to repair would be most helpful. Thanks.

The 2010-2013 years are prone to oil consumption issues, so I'd be cautious of a 2013 with 100K miles. Generally, they are good cars, though. I'm not sure I'd touch a base model 2008; I'd get at least the tech package. I don't know pricing in your area, so it's hard to know if those are good prices. Sounds like dealer pricing? Ideally, the service records would be available. If not, I would definitely plan on replacing the timing belt and water pump and all fluids. Since I don't go to repair shops, you may be better served by shopping around for estimates in your local area.

@Young1blood496 both of mine are beyond their engineered life expectation. Issues that arise are par for the course. That said, both remain fully operational with extra emphasis on the rear differentials - which contain the SH-AWD system which is >always< active (cannot shut it off). Torgue vectoring remains strong and precise. For old SUVs they remain strong.

@Young1blood496 Milestone wise my 07 just clicked over 253k on the OD. Only issues now are the auto tilt mirror click and clatter (which I am planning to resolve) and the in dash CD player doesn't work. Also had to replace the relays controlling the AC.

Getting 190k Mileage Acura 2008 for 4500? Is it worth getting a car with so much mileage and what should be my offer
@carapprentice
4 ай бұрын
190K miles is pretty high. If you have the ability or the money to maintain it, it might be worth it; I would have it checked out by a shop or someone knowledgeable. Service records from the previous owners to verify that major services such as the timing belt and water pump have been completed would provide more confidence. Regarding price, kbb.com is one of the best resources.

Like any car with that many miles, maintenance and repair history is important; ideally, the seller would have those records. If you have little to no familiarity with car repairs and maintenance, I'd have it inspected by a shop if it looks like a good candidate. Regarding the price, kbb.com is a decent resource.

Look at how many owners it had. Someone who buys an Acura new will for sure take care of it.
