How are the electrical systems on this ship powered - fossil fuel? Why is there no wind turbine or solar panels?

Could be momentum powered turbines in the water. Wouldn't take much to charge a battery. Plus it does have an engine assist that probably gets it up to speed with the "sails" acting as an overdrive system for "coasting". It's pretty genius. but yeah, this is a CGI rendering of the final design, not actual footage.

If this were a real ship (which it isn't) it would heel when being driven along by the wind. It doesn't even show the slightest heel how would this be achieved?

I agreed at first but after doing some research I learned that since they use wings not sails it doesn't necessarily mean it sails at angels that make it heel

@@WilliamHalen The heel is less with the wings, but there is always going to be a little I think.

This is only a movie that was made to attract government subsidies. It's a teaser. The hull architecture needs to change radically . Probably a catamaran type vessel would give it more stability. But please note the sails are retractable. This helps to keep the ship stable in heavy wind. Also, if this ship would actually sail it would carry non-urgent cargo. A journey between Europe and the US could take anything between 1 and 3 weeks. Very unpredictable, but that doesn't mean it's not economically viable. There's a huge market for non-urgent cargo, shipped in a sustainable way.
