Not sure why there is a thumbs down, this literally has the most useful information for beginner crabbers I’ve seen. Keep it up bud!

Marc, you are awesome brother. Thank you so much for the support. The thumbs down coms from the 5 core "HATERS" I have following me. They created dummy accounts to put up negative comments and thumbs down. 3 of them are regulars on the pier that has been going there for a long time. They think I don't know it's them, but I know. I smile, and go about things like nothing is wrong. The best part is I know it is them, but they don't know that I know it's them. CRAB ON brother!!!!!

I like watching your videos. I’m with the Salty Nutz fishing krew from Santa Cruz and a couple of us been getting into fishing for crab up your area . Started making my own snares and been learning off your channel. Thanks a lot for the videos. Big help.

Hey man, awesome video. Do you know where I can buy anchovies for the bait? I saw a lot of people using them. Especially the Sea Wave brand, I don't know where to buy them.

I appreciate the compliments and the support even more. Thank you. I hope you get a chance to come down here and do some fishing. The 1-2 day passes are the same price for both resident and non-resident. The yearly license are more expensive for non-residents, but obtainable. Check this link for the prices: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RHD9J9Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Good luck. CRAB ON!

I am super greatful for your video. I have never went crabbing before. I think I jumped the gun and bought a cage when I should have tried snares? I don't have a boat. I live closest to Ventura Beach. I was going to go out tomorrow for my first time... I was planning on throwing my cage out at the end of the jetty... But maybe it won't work out well?? I will watch your other videos. Appreciate your info!!

You don't know how happy it makes me to hear you say that. Brings joy to my heart. I never crabbed in SoCal, not sure if there's any, but let me know. If you ever need any info or recommendations, just hit me up. Good Luck out there! CRAB ON!

Thanks for your detailed videos! I plan to order material to make them. Is it true you can't do crab snare fishing south of Point Arguello? I live in Huntington Beach.

Hey Tombo. Thank you for the support to the channel. There is no quick answer to this question. Stay with me for the answer. The answer is not about grey areas, but rather facts. Crab Snaring with loops is allowed in California. Throughout California. However, you cannot use loop snares to catch Spiny Lobsters. Spiny Lobsters are the main recreational activity South of Lopez Point (North of Point Arguello). We don't have Spiny Lobster in NorCal. Just like there are no Dungeness Crabs in SoCal. The water is too warm for the dungees down there and the water is too cold for the spiny lobsters up here. If Fish & Game see you use a loop snare South of Point Lopez, they are going to assume you are using loop snares for Lobsters, because there are no dungees down there. Due to that fact, people assume snare loops are not allowed in SoCal. But it makes sense because why use loop snares in a place you can't catch Dungees. But there is no regulation that says you can't catch dungeness crabs with loops snares in SoCal. Now, I've heard of a Spiny Lobster being caught near Pacifica Pier once. Maybe the lobster got lost some how. Same can go for dungees. But it is not common enough to not have suspicions. Especially when loop snares are not allowed for an area focused mainly on lobsters and not crabs. It's a long explanation. Better to buy your snares, go up north to at least Monterey Bay for some Dungeness Crabbing, and have no issues with authorities. And you'll have a better chance catching Dungees. Good luck and CRAB ON!!!

I have been crabbing in Albion multiple times with a double ring net off the docks and have caught limits many times. I agree they suck on jetties, but if there is a pier or dock, double ring nets are amazing.

Thanks for the love brother! I've never been to Idaho, so I will check your channel. One of my favorite show is Mountain Men. I can only imagine! Just like Idaho and California, we're both on LOCKDOWN! lol. Hope you get a chance to do some crabbing!

Wow, been a while!! Thought maybe you had the Chinese crud and were down with it! Good video and a big help for a lot of people. I see a lot of us that use the Braided line and haven't ever seen anyone getting mad about it. Only thing that upsets me is people that don't tighten up their slack. The line type doesn't matter to me. I do have a favorite type of snare that you showed and I catch more crabs with but everyone I crab with has their favorite. They all catch crabs though just as you said. Can't wait for things to open up again before the season closes!! I also want to get out on a charter boat for some fish. My freezer is holding a lot of bait but for eating I have two little Red Rocks left. Can't wait for your other videos!!
