Very interesting. The last version of gINT I used was downloaded about 6yrs ago, some of the file formats (DXF in particular) were a bit long in the tooth. Have these been updated in the normal version of gINT or via Datgel tools?

gINT site map still uses dxf, but gINT Civil Tool that is built on the MicroStation Engine can support DWG, DGN, SHP, WMS and many more.

All this work over the years and all this information in your webinar in 2020, and then in 2023, Bentley announces that it will crater/kill off gINT starting in 2023 and then extinguishing any support in 2026, and eventually turning off the license servers completely, cutting off the gINT foundation for all the add ins. SMH What a shame.

You can still use gINT licenses in 2026, they will be node locked. Which means a license is activated on PC and can't be moved to another PC until the next quarter (every 3 months).

@@philwade101 My understanding though, is that after 2026 there will be no support whatsoever. If anybody has a technical question, or wants Bentley help with gint, my understanding is that this will not be addressed by Bentley. My understanding also is that if Microsoft changes something that breaks gINT, Bently will not support any change to Gint to make it work. When they say no support I also assume that means that they will be taking down the forums eventually. Btw, Your answer contains a lot more information than one can get in the ambiguous information posted on the Bentley website, that's for sure.

@bill jenkins generally correct in relation to Bentley Systems. Third parties, like Datgel, provide support today, and can continue to do so for a fee. But maintenance is a different kettle of fish. However, just the other day a guy told me how he is happily using a gint version from 14 years ago, it isn't like gint will stop working anytime soon.

@@philwade101 Well that is good. I wonder if Bentley will rethink their decision. I just can see how OpenGround will be able to do all the things giNT does. I see gINT as a foundational element to feed basic data into their OpenGround platform. But hey, that is just me.. time will tell ...
