Thanks Zac, I’m getting a bit back into slot cars at commercial tracks after a 50 year hiatus and your video was helpful! Keep up the good work!

This was an enjoyable series. You did a good job breaking down the tools and techniques with a friendly vibe. It’s great to see more videos on KZitem about the Hobby as I hope it will spawn more interest. Many people have never heard of the sport/hobby and are immediately interested when they see how much fun it can be. There are many aspects to the hobby- as full blown racing, 1/24 drag,....scale and historical as well a scratch building. I’m into scale and build a lot of historical cars from 50s-60s Le Mans and also enjoy 1/24 drag racing. I wish there were more tracks available and I’m hopeful that videos like yours will help to bring in new people to the hobby. It’s really not too expensive to get started and you’ve Done a great job here to show how people can get to an advanced state by focusing on these key performance tips. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Great job and kind regards! Pat

Do you have a home track, as well, to test your cars, or do you run solely at your club track? I don't have any clubs near me, so I'm planning to build a home track to enjoy running my cars. Was wondering you will be covering any tips on home track construction. Great videos with good info. I have around 20 cars, covering Scalextric, Slot.it, Fly and Carrera. I'm interested in the hobby primarily for the scale modeling aspect of the cars, but do also enjoy trying to get the cars to run well and smoothly. I'm not so much into club racing or anything. I'm not trying my hand at building up a higher performance car using a 3D printed chassis and Slot.it parts, using a Scalextric Viper body that I have.

Have you come across any of the Carrera stuff in your leagues? Im new to the hobby and it seems to be largely Scalextric vs Carrera from what Im seeing online and in shops? Unless that was one you mentioned without saying the brandname perse

Not many people race Carrera cars around me. They are very popular however in home sets, the track system is one of the best plastic tracks you can get for home use as well. Their cars are very close to the performance of a Scalextric car out of the box.

Good tips. Thank you. Don’t your body screws work their way out since you’re not tightening them all the way down?

Sorry for the late reply here! The screws in slot cars are "self tapping" means they are interference when installed. Usually you are able to loosen these screws without them falling out, but if it does become a problem just put a drop of white glue in the hole before putting the screw in. It will still be removable, but won't fall out. I alway run tape over the screw holes just in case, so that if they come out they don't end up in the slot!

@@Midwest-RC There are a few things to consider when buying a controller for mixed surfaces and tracks etc. I will try and get some content going for this!
