Castle doctrine was a thing in every state long before "stand your ground." The latter usually pertains to public areas where you used to have a duty to retreat before using force. Nearly all states agreed that you don't have a duty to retreat from your own home. But, going by this story, I don't think the woman would've even had a chance to escape, hence it is definitely a cut-and-dried self-defense case.

This is why I support stronger gun laws , that women did not need a rifle to defend herself , people that advocate for relaxed gun laws are either racist or they are living in the past , the same way we legalized same sex marriage which I support , we should also ban all weapons that pose a danger to the public

Nothing worked and all of them would just intensify whatever mood I woke up with. By my mid 20s and without a single pill, I had got my anger and outbursts completely under control. @@shihtzusrule9115 Do you seriously think that? Really? There are thousands and thousands of black market guns with the serial numbers filed off. Are you seriously saying that the gangs in the ghettos and plethora of drug-dealers, some of which are in rural areas who have guns are going to go "OH, welp, guns are illegal now, I guess I gotta throw mine away or turn it in before I get caught with it!" If that's what you believe, oh my. And um. The guy had a knife. *A KNIFE.* You're either living in a fantasy world, or just plain stupid if you think that it's better for you to have no guns, if it means the perp would also have no guns, because I guarantee you that if someone comes at you with a knife and you don't have a gun, your chances of survival are far lower. Also, even if the perp did have a gun, defenders always have the advantage; they know the layout of the house, and the time it takes to kick the door in, the defender has time to set up an ambush to kill the guy before he can react, which is exactly what you should be doing regardless of what the perp has, because you _just don't know_ if he has a knife, gun, machete, bat, etc. You should be preparing yourself for the worst-case scenario; drop him before he even has a chance to touch you with whatever he has. You being the defender has a better chance, especially at night when you can turn the lights off and hide and then blow his brains out before he even knows where it came from. Why do you think cops and tactical military have special tactics they use when breaching a building? Breaching a building is _very dangerous_ for this reason. They oftentimes use things like smoke grenades and flashbangs to reduce the chances of being caught off-guard by an ambush.
