at 2:56 there is an extra black stone left on the board doesn't seem to affect the key principles though

Great vid. I have one request. At the lower levels, black often takes away whites base by playing at the three space extension point first. It usually ends badly for white. Any ideas?

Ah, pincering you instead of extending out with the corner right? That's classic. I'll make a video on it in the near future then, good question! Basically the answer though is you should attach at 3-15 in the video's board position (3 over, 15 up), basically attach to the side of black's original komoku corner stone. White will probably hane under it on the second line to get more eye space, and you just build thickness this way. It's difficult to understand why getting the thick position but no actual points is good for white, but it is. Explaining would take a while haha. When I was learning that, I gave up on understanding it "on paper" and just applied it in games and tried to "feel" the benefits/good result of it through game experience. Sometimes the right way to learn certain things is do first, understand later.
