In this video we go on an urbex adventure to investigate some of the Lancashire coal mines. We are outside the town of Burnley Lancashire with the @ExploreNorthernMonkeys We firstly take a look at an old mine shaft that was part of the Gambleside colliery. The mineshaft is now flooded but we get a great look at it. We then go to look at an old tram road for a colliery. We drop down a tight hole and find ourselves on a waggon road for a mine. Its a long walk along this underground tunnel and eventually we see the coal seam. We discuss the role of Children in coal mines and how this was affected by the mines act of 1842.
