A lot of these comments are sickening, despicable, and are flat-out disgusting to say the least. Now, true enough he should have not listened to them and drunk it, he should have said I cannot drink what's in these bottles, and he is at fault. However, those agents are grown ass people who are mature, well developed adults and should have behaved like adults. They were well aware of the fact that was not no juice in those bottles, they were being cruel, and their attempts to be funny were not funny at all. And for some of you leaving these cruel, sad, and inhumane comments you all should be ashamed of yourselves for your lack of compassion, your careless disregard for human life, and the fact that most of you have never met that young man and labeling him. Yes no one put a gun to his head an forced him to drink those drugs. But, ya'll can deny it all you want but they played a part in this young man's demise too. How long have they been doing this job, how many times have they seen this type of thing take placeand if you knew that there was no juice in those bottles and they are sitting up there cracking jokes, laughing at the fact that they know that is not no gatorade, powerade, or whatever. And you don't put an end to the unfunny joke then in the end they played a role in his death, they knew what they were doing, and them being the key word adults in this situation should have never done this to begin with. The young man was wrong, these adults were wrong and both parties involved were at fault. But, what ya'll need to be angry about is the lack of regard for these people, the lack of compassion towards Mexicans, and the digusting mistreatment of Mexicans at the hands of these border agents. Mexicans just like any other race in this country for the most part are hardworking, intelligent, caring compassionate and decent people. And they deserve rights, respect, and compassion just as much as anyone else and the fact that some of ya'll can leave such cruel, sick, and inhumane comments in regards to this issue just further pinpoints the fact that we as a society as a whole regardless of race have a lot of work to do in regards to compassion, the embracing of all lives, and ensuring that all people regardless of race, sex, and background not only have rights but are given those rights and are treated properly. I am not judging these agents, I am not saying they are bad people just based off of this one grave mistake and this is something they are gonna have to deal with for, the rest of their lives but you all know they were somewhat complicit in this young man's untimely death and need to stop denying it. And most of ya'll have never met that young man before, have never interacted with him and have never talked to him so, how can you call him scum, a thug, a lowlife or whatever. Don't judge people you don't know and don't assume things about people you don't know. One mistake does not mean that this young man was a terrible person and it's easy to sit behind a computer and talk tough when you have not been through what those poor people have been through at the hands of some of these agents. And I bet that if the shoe was on the other foot none of you would want to be treated like this.

Charles Hill, Jr. What most on here could never understand is the fear that the cartel has put into the people of Mexico. He would much rather drink what's in the bottle and hope everything goes fine than fail at the mission the cartel gave him. The consequences of that ABSOLUTELY would've been murder, if not his whole family being murdered. That's the risk he took and it's heartbreaking to know he essentially in a no win situation. Admit to what's in the bottle and be killed by the cartel, or do one last ditch effort to show those bottles are nothing more than juice. The officers should've taken that decision out of his hands, tested the substance, and moved on.

If the shoe was on the other foot? Why would it be? Good, honest, upstanding citizens from.....everywhere...... don't put themselves in harm's way. So forget that nonsense. That bugs me that so many of us (U.S. citizens) raise their voices in admonishing as heartless, evil bastards their own people. Why, because we abide by the laws set forth by our own leaders and aren't particularly fond of those who don't. So shame on us for not being sensitive to the plight of the poor, mistreated, international criminal. Shame on us, too, for backing our own peace officers, the most heinous and cruel individuals to be found anywhere on this planet. And shame on us all for a whole list of "crimes" we've committed against all sorts of poor, mistreated _________. You all know several, several correct answers to that blank space. And it's due, of course, to our own over privileged sense of self worth. Isn't that correct, Mr. Charles Hill, Jr? The biggest problem I have with all that is where and from whom that criticism always comes.One of the other comments backing Hill nailed it. I believe his words were "well-educated." And we all know the truly "well-educated" and their ideas come almost exclusively from uppity, expensive institutes of higher learning along the west coast and New England. And here's the irony of it: those well-educated (i.e. well indoctrinated) are, perhaps, the most privileged and selfish of us all. I daresay our good and righteous Mr. Hill, got his ideas from one of those universities whose populations consist of trust-fund babies & sons/daughters of fathers/mothers with 6 figure (or more) salaries. You know, the ones that didn't have to work their way through college, certainly had no high school job, and we're probably raised in gated communities, where, coincidently, none of their neighbors were from any of those poor, mistreated, and apparently, defenseless groups they will choose to champion. Sorry if I ranted there, but please, let me ask one question before I close this out? Charles Hill, Jr (I so wish it was the 3rd), did you graduate from one of those colleges or are you just a "civilian" follower?
@pauljones6023
6 жыл бұрын
One last little tidbit from me, seriously; I don't believe Charles Hill, Jr. is really the southern gentleman he has painstakingly tried to hint at in his "thesis paper." many years ago I was at the same San Ysidro border waiting in line to get back to the USA. In front of me, a group of drunk teenagers starts chanting "USA USA USA". The noise disturbed the border agents who had mistaken me (a grown ass man) for doing the chat. When It was my turn in line for processing the agent starts to yell and threaten me about how he is going to arrest me for public disturbance and how he will find out where I work at and notify my employer. The rant went on for several minutes as this young agent (younger than myself) was yelling at me like a toddler. Completely unprofessional. It sucks that my tax money actually funds their salaries

I live in San Diego , (I'm military special forces) my son was visiting he is a border control agent in Seattle, he, both he and I have dark brown hair green eyes. We had our badges , ID cards and passports to cross. Didn't matter one bit. We were walking through San Ysidro point of entry. My physical address was San Diego, California. They didn't believe anything we said until my son started with border laws and just to see their attorney , while he called Homeland Security @ detaining a federal employee and a military employee. I have lived in San Diego 40 yrs when not deployed, life at the border has just gotten WORSE
