You really need to find a good contractor if you are not building it yourself because I’ve heard of terrible contractors who do shit for work and run off with your money or just quit working all together.

Mate ive lived in bali for 7 years, my partner is from Karangasem near by Tirta Gangga, anyone in Australian who said their shit quality builds is working with the wrong architect, personally my experience i wouldn't use timber as more maintenance and subject to potential terminates ect and use hebel bricks double wall or 200mm thick very good for insulation keeps rooms cool, but by far if you do some research and use the right people skilled locals you can by far get significantly more value for money then aus how much does it cosr for a shit house 1 bedroom apartment in Western Sydney start comparing the north is where less people are and can find proper size land for alot less

If your wife has a hotel or farm, then yes. Putting a very small amount of capital into it is fine. But do not in any way except that money back .

Yes. It is worth understanding the concept of "sunk costs". Money transferred to Indonesia stays in Indonesia.

My view. Dont lease land or lease villa. Buy everything outright. It is easy to do. Further away from tourists areas the cheaper it gets. Life is easy and fun in Bali. Nothing is hard to do. ❤👍

Agree, The majority of Bali has fallen apart, traffic, pollution, bad infrastructure and westernisation has sent it backwards. The sad thing is the foreign money flows heavily in bali and it will most definitely only get worse with time. Definatly This is great for the Balinesese, property portfolios and bank accounts but it comes with a cost of a deteriating culture which is sad to witness. My advice would be travel and explore other areas of Indonesia, especially if your looking for culture, value and what bali was like in the 80's and 90's there is loads of amazing places that haven't had western molestation and negative influence.
@MurrayWilkinson1

unfortunately the other areas of Indonesia are not the same as Bali and in many cases are not built to encourage western tourists.

@@MurrayWilkinson1 100% muzz, all really depends on what your searching for I guess, my advice aims for those who are returning to Bali from the glory days( 70's 80's and 90's), there are some absolute gems around indonesia that are untouched , natural and pure and the locals have no interest in making a dollar of the tourists but rather a chat and understanding of a foreinger , but as i said it all depends on what your searching for. Bali still great for a pit stop/ piss up/ party but as far as culture goes it's on the downhill slide

HE WOULD HAVE SOURCED THE ORIGINAL JOGLO FRAME AND ROOF STRUCTURE FROM JAVA. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY INEXPENSIVE AS IT LOOKS LIKE HE WAS ONLY INTRESTED IN ROOF AND POSTS AND NOT ALL THE WALLS WHICH ARE OFTEN CARVED. NICE LOOKING HOUSE AND THE BUILDERS ARE DOING IT OLD SCHOOL BUT REFRESHING NEW DESIGN. LOVE TO WAKE UP IN THAT ONCE ITS DONE. GREAT EXAMPLE OF THINKING MORE OF TRADITIONAL MEETS MODERN. GOOD STUFF MUZZA 🕊✨️🙌💙🙏💚🙏💙🙏🙌✨️🦋🐝
