He IS a great dad! He has no bio kids, but he is a father in the best ways to every kid he is raising, or is in contact with. And so is Sarah a super mom!
I think you might be right except for the Prodigal Son bit. The Prodigal Son is the son who has it all, but demands the family resources which are not even his yet, And then goes out and wastes everything partying, and ends up, nearly starving to death, living with the pigs in the barn of a foreigner in a foreign land, Until he realizes that the lowest servant that his family had, was doing a whole lot better than he was at the moment. So he decided to Make his way back home to ask his father if he would take him on as a servant. But the father was so glad to see him, that he accepted him back immediately with a huge celebration of his return. He gave him a whole ‘nother chance. A big part of the moral of that story is that sometimes it matters who you are. And it’s an analogy for God as they heavenly father when we screw up. We don’t end up back in the burn as a servant, but are welcome to back who is the best of everything come up with a whole new chance before us. Because we are treasured children of the Almighty, and even when we screw up, he wants us back, and is willing to be there to help us learn to do better. From the perspective of those of us who have taken a prodigal journey, the fact that people who love Chippy are teaching him to love and to be an active participant in a life of achievement, as well as to become a man of capability, who knows his way around and capable of providing, hopefully he will find himself on that journey. but if he does, hopefully he’ll know and remember the love of the people who gladly celebrate having him back in a heartbeat. And hopefully, he’ll always know the love and comfort of his Heavenly Father.

Your last words opened my heart as I remembered my Dad, Ben. He had a hard life growing up and when his children were born he made sure we had everything he didn't have growing up. But he had a temper that he could not control and I was terrified of his temper my whole life. Decades later, after he passed, I made my peace with him and remain grateful for the man he was but couldn't show us and forgave him for his imperfections. The day I forgave him, lying in bed that night, I felt a hand caress my face. I lived alone then, as my husband had passed away years before. I realized it was him. I'm in my 70s now, and I know I will see him again. I believe he may be one of the 7 angels I saw when I finally got busy with my own healing journey. God is real, he heals and he forgives. Thank you Steve. What you do goes way beyond just reading emails.

The greatest gift you can give a child is a love & respect for the REAL world. Great shares! The one about the sheep interested me. Sheep are actually quite easy to kill. At the first sign of danger, they will flock together, &, when panicked, will crush each other to death. I've heard of wild dogs taking out a large flock doing that & they don't eat anything. Thanks to all that shared & thank you Steve! Hope to see more of your adventures with Chippy! As always, stay safe! My deepest sympathy & prayers for the Venner family & friends for their loss. 🙏🙏
