Love INXS! At the time, their sound was very unique, and Michael Hutchence made the Jim Morrison sex appeal en vogue again. I recommend "Never Tear Us Apart" next. Michael lets loose a bit more, and it has a bit of nice saxophone. Fun fact - Michael's girlfriend at the time, Helena Christiansen, is the star of Chris Isaac's "Wicked Games" video. It catapulted her to super model status. If you haven't seen that video yet, it's a MUST see.

More INXS please. This album broke all kinds of barriers. They were able to incorporate electronics, drum looping and dance/ funk/rock. They blew Michael Jackson, Prince and others off the charts! This video was ahead of its time, they had to do most effects in camera with out the computing power of today. 🤬 I have to take umbrage with, "Michael Hutchence's face superimposed over a woman's body" 🤬 Where did you get an idea like that?? If you want the vocal power, he has it."

This song is absolute fire-one of the best songs of the 80s. You must remember how tired pop music was becoming post 1985. Music fans craved something different and this was it. It still sounds good today. It’s not nearly as dated as “Beat It”, “Sussudio”, “Oh Sheila” or “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” If it’s too mellow, listen to that whole album. It’s mid-tempo style fits the album. “New Sensation” is the upbeat, energetic tune on that great CD. But this was the best song of that mix. Music is subjective. But to be completely dismissive of 1987 is ignorance to me. MY opinion.

This makes me remember my rock concerts I attended ..... LOL you are making me laugh disagreeing 🤣.. You all need to review something INXS live they are way better live ... Michael was a wonderful singer and frontman he could sing high or low ( my personal 2 favorite vocals of Michael's is ( Elegantly Wasted official video & INXS: Searching 1996 ARIA Awards ) and the whole band is fantastic musicians still think Kirk is still one of the best Sax players ...and their Live Baby Live Wembley Remaster concert is still one of my favorite concert of all l time.. INXS , Bon Jovi, John Mellencamp Huey Lewis was my whole 80's & 90's ....had a ball going to their concerts thank goodness I had understandable hubby that enjoyed going with me ... .... I was hoping the remaining 5 band members would make it ... after Michael .. But it is good to know the band is still around behind the scenes & .. Andrew Farriss is a wonderful songwriter along with Michael He wrote most of the music for INXS while Michael wrote the lyrics ..& he still writes for himself and for other artist ... Michael, you are still loved & sorely missed ...💖💞❤🩹💚💛💙

I'm a Gen-Xer and I was in high school when this song was a hit. I also saw them in concert and this band kicked every band's ass in that arena, pun intended. To the young man on the panel, you have no taste in good music!!! But the music of your generation sucks anyway so your idea of good music isn't mine!!!!!!! Parting Thoughts and Comments: 1. This song is still played constantly on the radio thirty-five years later and it still sounds good! 2. It's not my favorite video but it's not a bad one by any means. Again, young man, if you want to see a bad video, I suggest you look at some of the hair metal and rap videos of the 80s. BTW, it won video of the year in 1988 at the MTV Video Music Awards. You should've probably played Mediate, which was the second half of this video. It usually gets cutoff on these reaction shows. 3. This went to #1 in late January of 1988 and was the 2nd biggest hit of that year. George Michael's Faith was #1. Shout out to the gentleman who mentioned Casey Kasem. I used to listen every Sunday too. 4. The singer was setting fire to the panties of girls around the world, including mine! And his voice is killer. To the young man again, you'd probably better understand the monotone of his voice on that song if you were a girl!!!!!!!!!!!! 5. The album (Kick) that song comes from was the 3rd biggest album of 1988. They released 3 other songs from that album in 1988, New Sensation, Devil Inside and Never Tear Us Apart and all were top ten hits. 6. Finally, I'll take this song and any song in the 80s over any of the shit that passes for music today!! THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing wrong with this video. Everyone needs to get past the whole 80s=automatic criticism. Is it the visual effects? They look good and they work with the vibe of the song and the band's image. Yes, graphic capability is much more advanced now. Are old movies bad because they're in black and white? Are sports teams from the past "bad" because training/fitness/sports medicine and equipment are more advanced now? It was the 80s. It was what it was.
