Interesting tidbit: the guy on Stick (bass) is none other then ex-Kajagoogoo bassplayer Nick Beggs who nowadays plays with Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and has played for a few years now with Steve Hackett (ex-Genesis).

Did anyone notice that in the first few minutes, the drummer is drumming with two sticks in each hand? Very cool.

Nations shall rise, nations shall fall, Nothing shall stand in the way of the word, And the word is a sword that pierces the heart And the truth is a light that cuts through the dark When I was a kid, I listened to truly artistic bands like ELP, Yes, RUSH, and Uriah Heep. This band is in the same league. Just not as popular. Even so, I was drawn to them by their two most commercial songs. (they had regular radio play) Treasure and Today This is the best version of this song I have ever heard.

This is wonderful. It just rocks. Joanne is glorious as is Dave as is the whole band. I love that the beat is so amazing that it takes two drumsticks in each hand. 21st century Battle Hymn.... gratitude, john

Such a stirring anthem! Love the power of the drums, Joanne's soaring vocals, the blend of the whistle with Dave's guitar. This is truly an epic masterpiece!

I know, this sounds very scary. At the same time, the bible is the only book that takes us VERY seriously. E.g. the book of psalms is filled with questions "God, where are you?" and "why??!!". Same for the book of Job. Even Jesus cried out "why have You forsaken me?" at the cross. Yes, I believe that the bible tells the truth, but not like a no-brainer... or someone who is not allowed to have questions. But ultimately, trusting God is based on knowing Him, not about understanding everything.

@NarcissistsDie: if believing is a kind of intellectual game, and/or God some kind of modern manager, you might be right. Unfortunately, we christians often do a lousy job in showing what it's all about. Sorry for that... But if there's truth in the thick book, then it's all about a God of love and mercy (but not a Santa Claus). Not about perfect christians or a perfect world. Anyway, I cannot prove you that my wife loves me, but I know... same with God. Best advice I can give you: ask Him!

It's very human to "demand answers". But do we have a right to know?? From whom do we receive that right?? God is God. Yes, you're right, if church people stay in their church and do nothing about the suffering, heaven cries. On the other hand, lots of good has been done and is being done to eradicate evil simply because people have listened to Gods call. Both things are necessary: praising God, so that He can put people on their feet, and help other people at the same time.

I will never forget seeing Iona live at Greenbelt 1993. I wish I had recorded it on video. It was really a moving experience.
