I had the opposite feeling. Toms and bass drums were too deep imo. Snare sounded perfect and cymbals too. But the rest had all the bass boosted like a mf. I compare it to other studio quality drum playthroughs. Samuli's play of Verikoira is one that I love and the sound is just fucking killer. Jeremy Spencer on FFDP also does drum EQ (or sound eng I guess) really fucking good. At least they were on Wrong Side of Heaven. That 2 part album sounds literally perfect, at least for me.

@@drumcorpful He is. He truly is. There are so much awesome drummers out there without a doubt and a lot of them are very uniqe and really really good in what they are doing. Thomas Haake is also very impressiv. But i think eloy can play everything. Samba, Jazz, Gospel, mathcore, grindcore and so on. It dosn't matter to him. He just plays.

Just the fact that you recorded this in entirety is a feat. Let alone how perfectly you played it ON TOP of how good your drums sound. 😎 Keep shreddin bro, too legit to quit.

I fully understand what it's like to learn an entire album and to play it in one play through. I did the same with the guitars from their self-titled album and with SOAD's Mezmerize album. The payoff is such a satisfying feeling to get through an entire album with no breaks.

Everything went away, everyone was so damn hyped, we totally forgot what the world was. Talk about legacy… that’s it’s right there

No, that should not be a challenge or in few next years you will see a lot of drummer channels closed b'coz they will just not able to play anymore after that kinda of "challenge". This is very big stress for bones and it not just passing by without consequences. I rly hope tobi is fine.

@@SnakeTheCowboy What? You're crazy my dude, sure it is exhausting and a hell of a work out, but it is by no means dangerous for someone who developed the stamina for it overtime (which is where the real effort is).

This was fkg masterfull. Hearing this brought me back 15 years ago. I saw the thumbnail and I thought oh cool why not watch 1 or two songs. I stayed the entire album singing and air drumming lol. Hearing Iowa song for the first time back then watching the video on TV was life changing for me. Couldnt believe this existed. after that I went on Korn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin park, SOAD and all the goodies the 2000's gave us. I was 14 or something when it came out. Thank you for this. It was an entire life time ago and I thank you for bringing me back there.

Imagine being in the studio when Joey was laying down these drums. Outrageous, It doesn't sound anything like any metal I've heard before or since. A very "for the song" drummer.
