How in the world does this guy put out his videos every few days?? Most Internet "tech experts" put out fewer vids; the vids drag on and on; and the reviewer obviously isn't as versed in the products as Mr. Brownlee. In only about six minutes, Mr. Brownlee gave a highly informative video satisfactorily showing compelling features of both products. He is the "Baws" of tech reviewers!

Love the way you described Android as "quirky but kind of fun". Couldn't agree more. I feel like I can perform tasks more quickly on my iPhone, but I still prefer using my Galaxy Nexus because it is a more enjoyable experience.

Did you not notice how the quality on the prime is one of the best out there? The prime was announced in late 2011 and was the first to have a Tegra 3 quad core processor, making it faster than any tablet on the market during that time. Only reason why iPad is even a competitor is because a new one was released. Also, shall we even talk about the keyboard dock that actually helps the battery?

Oh, one more thing, you can also just drag an alias of the app and put it on your desktop too if you don't want to use the widget. Just like you can on an iPad and you can group them together into a folder just like on an iPad.

I normally do not comment but as a tech professional I get so annoyed at many of the videos out that run the benchmarks and are obviously skewed one way or another. This was a great real world review of both tablets. I would like to see the MSRP prices mentioned so that people can factor that into there purchasing decision. Thanks for spending the time!

Taking pictures on a tablet is underrated. As a student i take pictures of the black board and I use the Android 4.0 panorama function from time to time. You forgot to mention the keyboard dock for the transformer prime. I think that function will make many fall for the prime instead of the iPad. Nevertheless, good job: dragging out the negative and positive sides about two products the way you do is hard. Keep up the good work.

I am so glad for your review. Choosing the right tablet turned out to be really exhausting piece of work. My brother (iPad 1 owner) pushing me to buy an iPad, while I fell in love with Asus Infinity. Apple says: their CPU has 4x times the power. Even some benchmark showed so. But I cannot see any FPS difference, both tablets run games smoothly. Only Tegra optimized games has additional effects, and A5x optimization offers bigger resolution. But why retina display? I just need HD for my HD movies

The comment I just read brings up a solid point; people who plan on "jailbreaking" their device is going to have a completely different OS experience than you did, and it's an important one to cover. Got anything on a jail-broken iPad 3 vs the Trans, or even maybe wait it out til' the Infinity and just cover that issue this time?

Which is why it uses a much faster processor and graphics processor than the iPad 2 to compensate for the power it needs for the retina display. It should be about proportional. Graphics are a little better at a better resolution at about the same power consumption.

Great video, nice job with the comparing them! Keep up the great work man. iPad > Prime :) I think that that the iPad camera looks better than Primes. It is a bit smoother as well. Also, like you said the display kills it. Prime is really difficult to find, and they are releasing a new one soon. This one has not been out for that long. I also noticed a few software issues when I was playing with one at Best Buy (after a factory restore & before, a new unit as well). G

Very unbiased review. See guys, selecting a tablet should be based on how are you going to use it. For me, hell with the display. the new ipad is the same as the ipad 2 and both lack the custom-ability and capabilities as an android tablet. eg. live wallpaper, a fully functional bluetooth, side load apps, widgets, different home launchers, different keyboards (swype), micro sd, all sort of utility ports, file explorer to delete and modify files and folders independent of a computer and more...

I can't believe people would be saying that an Asus product would have worse gaming performance than Apple. In the computer world Asus is legendary for their graphics cards, laptops, and most importantly, motherboards. Apple, on the other hand, has never been a force in computer gaming. Nice quality vid as usual though, finally one that isn't just biased towards one side despite you having a lot more feeling towards Android like myself.

Obviously you don't understand the way widgets work on an Android device. It's not an either/or scenario. Widgets are apps. It's just that some apps have a widget component so that you don't have to launch the full fledge app. I use an app called Smooth Calendar. I can launch the full app if I want or just use the widget which I have on my home screen to show me my events for the next few days without having to open anything. If I do want to open the full app, I just click on the widget.
