I would prefer a 128GB ipad mini. I think most people would prefer it and apple knows it too. I guess it is still all about the benjamins. It was the same with the previous ipad mini if I am not mistaken. That is my only disappointment.

The mini's size and form form factor is perfect for one hand tablet usage, which imo is really where the tablet shines the most in. The larger iPads are pretty much two hand devices so using them on the go or in the bed like I do, it's not optimal. Don't get me wrong, the larger screens look gorgeous, but in situations like I described, you really don't care as much much about image size as you do portability and comfortableness. Once it starts getting too big, it starts encroaching on monitor desktop/laptop use. I would be trying to watch some show or movie on my iPad Pro in bed, thinking "I can watch it big while being comfortable!" But because it's so big and unwieldy, it ends up being not that comfortable and usually halfway through I just get up and sit at my computer desk and watch it there, because that's actually more comfortable than trying to hold a 12 inch screen in front of your face in bed lol. The Mini let's me lay down and hold this light device in one hand comfortably. And it also fulfill that spot that phones can't. Even though phones are getting larger and larger, it's still just a little too small to really just enjoy and feel comfortable with. And frankly I think phones right now are in a pretty bad spot when it comes to ergonomics where it should either be smaller, or larger, but right now it's that awkward spot where you have to hold it in a kinda cramped position. So even though the Mini is larger, it feels more natural in your hand to hold than my iPhone.

I’ve been debating between the mini and iPad Pro 11”. 64gb doesn’t seem like a real option and Apple priced the 256 so high that it’s close to the Pro. The Pros have been going on sale for at least $100 off so the gap is even less. It just seems like you get so much more with the Pro but I do like the size of the mini.

I just got my iPad mini 6 last week, the one thing I hate is the grey bar, or home bar, it’s very distracting when viewing in photos or reading in kindle or playing chess, that bar never goes away, unlike the iPad mini 5, it didn’t have that bar, but you could still swap to next app or to go to Home Screen. I use mine in landscape mode most of the time. I have found out when sending an e-mail to someone the keyboard is obstructing the names in the e-mail list, so I have to get out of the keyboard mode to select which e-mail address I need then go back to typing, only in landscape mode. One good thing is the space between letters on the keyboard are a little bigger so you don’t hit the wrong key👌.

There is (at least) one major negative that is not mentioned: a lack of mini-jack. How can one plug a wired headphone AND charge the iPad at the same time? In terms of iOS (or iPadOS, as it's now called), the Apple OS is still quite frustrating in many ways. For example, the native Apple Calendar app is still unable to properly display events, which is its sole purpose. Only a limited number of characters is shown for each event, even in the List view, meaning it is quite annoying and time consuming to use, unless all your events have short names. This makes even less sense since only about 40% of the horizontal space is used when in List mode. Apple could and should have used much more horizontal space, enabling a really useful Calendar app.

Holding onto my iPad mini 5 for now, because of the 60Hz display and screen remains the same, and I am spoilt by the 120Hz display on my phone. Yes the Mini is my favourite size. Yes, I’ll always prefer a mini over a larger form-factor because I do most of my work and study on a Mac. Perhaps Apple will get my $$ next year if they upgrade the screen - definitely they will get my $$ if they provide a Mini Pro (🙏🙏).

Weird on the brightness. I’m watching and typing this on my iPad mini 6 with the brightness less than half up and it’s great… but I also do not like super bright rooms and keep lower light. I agree on the 60hz, promotion would be great, and space on the screen is a bit wasted. So many apps aren’t made for this resolution and adds black bars to the whole full screen apps, a bit annoying. I haven’t really had any issues with battery, lasts all day easy. I think just you having your screen brightness up causes that.

I’m sorry but the reasons you talked about are no valid reasons you should now before hand. You can’t compare it to an iphone 13 and the reason is pricing. For example iphone 13 is here 3 times more expansive the ipad pro is atleast 2 times more expansive. The use of an ipad mini is more like a companion than a work horse, it is cool for designers to draw but they will complain about the small screen. Developers wont use it again to small screen. Sorry to say but your problems are a rich kids problems and you needed to compare it against the same price class or talk about the screen size, productivity, battery life and if the screen is not bright enough than show it on camera ven if it does not give the whole image but it gives a idea
