If the rumors are correct and the iPhone mini will be discontinued from the iPhone 14 onwards, there's a good chance that Apple will recycle the current mini into the future SE, which would be great for those who want small format phones. That is if Apple don't drop small iPhones altogether, which is a possibility.
@MR12AMAZING

No chance they do that imo. They're cancelling the mini due to poor sales so for that reason I doubt they'll use the mini design for the SE. I mean, the current iPhone 13 is considered a compact phone within itself in the current climate so I doubt they'll go much smaller in future phones .

I'd just stick with your current model as long as it's trucking along OK. I don't see the SE 2022 being much of an upgrade over the 2020 model, and if price is an issue, then the Mini shouldn't be considered unless you really need that camera. The slight increase in battery size and the ultra-wide ratio screen is not worth the big bump in cost for budget conscious users that use their phone as a tool.

@@aktm1407OLEDs use very fast flickering (PWM) in order to control brightness, some people are sensitive to that and it gives them headaches. While many cheap LCD displays also do that, there are also many that don't (including the SE display), whereas the majority of OLED displays use PWM. A few Android devices have introduced DC dimming, but from what I understand there is some image quality compromise due to the science behind OLED where colors are not as accurate if you run each pixel at a lower voltage instead of pulsing it on and off at the correct voltage. It's usually a configurable option on those devices.

The typical users of the 13mini and SE are different. The 13mini is more for hardcore users, who like a compact design without compromising too much on features and specs. The SE is for the very conservative users, and these users are actually becoming to form a niche market. Of course, there are also many people who just want to purchase the cheapest iPhone, especially those who have never and haven't been using iPhone for years, so SE is the only choice.

Great and informative video! I'm not an Apple fan - never had. I'm more of a Windows phone - Still have my Lumia 950 & 950XL - now relegated as media player and camera. I do have a Moto G8 Power as my daily phone. Don't really like carrying expensive phone gear. My work gave us an iPhone SE (2020) to use for work. I must say, I am really appreciating and enjoying the size and build. I do really like the form factor. I may start to look into the iPhone for its camera features - as a videographer and a photographer, I'm quite impressed. I wish the SE had the same camera feature set as the iPhone 13 Mini but I do like the 13 mini's slightly larger screen. Hope the future of SE will be at least 5" screen. I do like the form factor - and the price!

I have a question: is there in the iPhone SE 2022 the "panoramic" camera mode, not wide but really panoramic? thanks
