Thank you for the video, I managed to replace the cable and parts. My proximity sensor is the only thing not working. I will take the phone apart again as I suspect that I have not secured it in place properly. Two notes that slightly differ from video. 1, There is a small sticker under the camera assembly which covers a screw. This needs peeling back but was simple. 2, Removing the bracket securing the proximity sensor is tricky because it is glued on as well. I had to use a blade to help it come off. It looks much easier on the video but I suspect the phone there was taken apart many times. Need very pointy tweezers. Thanks again for the tutorial.

Thanks so much for your response, I resolved the issue by reinserting my old flex cable, and affixing the missing gold nub from my replacement over top of it. It seems I bought the wrong cable; I've since learned that you have to match the serial number on your current cable (located beneath the power button mounting bracket) with any replacements.

Thanks Sean, I'm sorry to hear that, unfortunately could be multiple reasons for that and it will be hard for me to give you an exact diagnosis. It could be a faulty cable which keep your iphone in on and off cycle - it's happened to me once, a battery problem or in the worst case scenario could be a problem with the logic board.

Hey jimmy, try to release the screws of the power button and see how it goes, other ways could be a faulty cable (without the small black dot in the middle) or on the new power button the small metal disc is missing.

That's because the date and time was reset when you removed the battery. You just need to setup the date and time and then switch on/off Airplane mode and it will find your SIM. Restore is good as well but it takes to long :) anyway, good job!

CRAZYPHONEStv Hi again you crazyphones! After having used my iphone without any problem for a month, the problem with the touchscreen popped up again. It just doesn't respond. But only now and than, not constantly. Do you have any idea what might cause that? I opened it again, made sure everything is well attached, but that did not help. Also recovered it with a backup from some weeks ago, when it was still fine. Nothing. In your video you mention a little black clip that must not be lost when taking off the powercable. That clip was not in my phone to begin with... Also the plastic that is under the battery and over the motherboard (or whatever) is broken. Could that maybe cause this? I guess this phone was already "repaired" by the previous owner, hence the loss of the little black clip. What is it for anyway? Hope you can help!

Hi James , it sounds like a damaged lcd connector , if you use the silent button (mute button at the side ) do you then feel vibration ? ) if the phone vibrates its functioning but not able to light up the lcd . Its very seldom but that it works but i tried once that a simple hard reset made a 4s function well again (hard reset : keep power button and home button pressed at the same time ) Also you could try to disconnect the two connectors for the lcd and the digitizer and mount them again , just to make sure that they where situated well . If nothing of this works then its sure the lcd cable that is overbend , many off the repairs shown here on youtube are made in a risci way its very lightly to overbend the cables if the front glass is not removed before this cable change . If you have a new front glass assembly or an old one its simple just to mount it on the connectors on the mother board and test if its the cables that are broken . If you buy a new assembly for the front , rember to buy a gasket for the proximity sensor or if you are lucky to move the old gasket on to the new assembly. The gasket is placed on the backside of the front glass on the top of it , where the two "windows " for the proximity sensor is situated , many repair guides dosent mention this gasket and the proximity sensor wont work without it . Sorry i could not help you more than this , but its likely that the cables are damaged . Motherboard damage issues are very seldom by this repair .
