One thing that’s worth pointing out is that even if you do lose all of your keys, you still won’t lose access to your account if you still have a trusted device, since you can buy new keys and use the trusted device to add them, or you can delete all the keys and revert to security codes. One question I can’t find the answer to is whether watchOS 9.3 will let you delete keys in the Password & Security section of Settings. If it does let you delete them, then even if you lose your keys and your only remaining trusted device is your Apple Watch, you still won’t get locked out.

Very informative. Thank you. One thing I'm a bit worried about, and which wasn't touched in this video, nor does it seem to be talked about anywhere, is what happens if the security key gets stolen. Obviously, the key is useless without your password, but what if the thief taps "forgot password" and uses the key as proof of identity to have it reset? Is this possible? If you pretend to have forgotten your iCloud password and try to reset it, will the phone ask you to tap the security key? Or will it ignore the key and revert to the good old six-digit code sent to your other devices?

I just got an iPhone, however I've noticed on my old Samsung the security key never worked and still doesn't, always had to use back up codes

Does implementing Yubikey on the iPhone replace Face ID to unlock my iPhone?

I noticed you still have a "trusted phone number" listed there. Shouldn't you remove it as it bypass the security keys as another mean of getting the 2FA codes ... or am i wrong in assuming this?

I haven't seen this specified anywhere, but I assume it's FIDO U2F that's used for this purpose, right? I mean, if you have a security key that's compatible with several different protocols, like the Yubikey 5-series, then you must configure it to use U2F when tapped. Am I right?
