Druga1--I always thought you intentionally screwed up or were unprepared just to make your videos more interesting, but after buying some old mac hardware to tinker around with in the last week or so and trying to get it up and working, I realize that your videos are 100% spot on when dealing with any Mac hardware that isn't less than 4 years old and still 100% supported by apple. Its a joke, though a bit of an entertaining one. Great channel and keep up the good work and you should consider setting up a patreon as well.

Early high school days, say 2002, and couldnt afford the first gen ipod which had 5GB and later 10 & 20GBs so being stuck with a generic "MP3 Player", Those little ones that ran on a single AAA battery, which probably had 512MB or 1GB at the time and we wanted more songs to fit so convert them down to fit a few hundred to a thousand more songs on it xD

@LAZRBEEM
8 жыл бұрын
No. Windows runs on an x86 processor. I highly doubt that ipod uses one. It likely uses an early ARM like processor, if not an ARM one.
@kakoka1pro
8 жыл бұрын
yeah, I also thought the processor wouldn't be x86. maybe someone knows. for the others that think running ms-dos on this is funny or something because this is underpowered, it isn't.
@PaulTheFox1988
8 жыл бұрын
It could theoretically run, the ipod is fast enough in terms of hardware requirements, but the cpu is an ARM based chip, so you would need an emulator to do it, and that would be incredibly slow. It has been done on the psp though, and I think the apple watch also had win 98 on it, but it was slow in both cases.
@kakoka1pro
8 жыл бұрын
+Robinthefox88 yeah, the other guys assume the iPod is slow so much that it will only run win 1. That is so dumb, guys here dont know what they are tlking about. It has to do some emulaton like you said and that would be inceedibly slow on this cpu, most likely.

I always convert my songs to 128 kbit, and to save time syncing them each time I "brick" my phone from jailbreaking I've copied the Itunes_Control folder from my phone and I simply copy it to it's destination when I wipe my phone and all of the songs are there again completely recognized by Itunes in a fraction of the time syncing takes.

Could the file copy issues be due to fat32 only supporting 8.3 filenames?
@PaulTheFox1988

That's an MS-DOS/FAT12 issue, it isn't a problem for FAT32, I have had files that are stored on FAT32 drives that are upwards of 100 characters long, the limit is 254 chars for FAT32, just like NTFS.

Hey, Druaga, try putting some tracker files like .MOD, .SID, and .NSF on there. They should all work. Also, if you go through the settings you'll find you should be able to change the brightness of the screen. While in the settings you also can enable pause on headphone unplug, *and* play on headphone insertion.
