It is fun and very challenging. These are competitions and the aim is to get better every time you go. You can expect to see improvements in physical coordination, speed, mental problem solving, emotional control and confidence in your improving abilities.

fistfullof1911 Thank you for your reply. I have already joined my local gun club and have been shooting as much as i can. I REALLY enjoy it, and it is as fun and challenging as i hoped it would be. Now i just bonk my head for not doing this many years ago haha :) My goal now is to keep shooting and practice untill i can get my IPSC license. Your video have been a great inspiration for me, so thank you for that!! Do you compete on international level?

Leiberg Thats great to hear. I joined the PPLA club only 2 years ago. Never heard of the sport. That's why I made the promotional video to share. Have a great new year...

Cool Video. As an American I have only began to understand your firearms laws recently and I appreciate your detail in explaining the pistol process which I mostly agree with. As a competitive shooter myself (Bullsye) I love the safety aspect which I think people need to be more in grained with. Keep your powder dry!

Thanks for your comment, here in Victoria one must be a member of a club, proven holster proficiency, and must attend at least 6 competitions and 4 practices, logged per year. This ensures that all pistol licence holders are involved and don't only pull out their gun once in a blue moon. Safety is the most important component in the sport, as the firearm can be a lethal tool. Just like a chainsaw, nail gun, pressure cooker, or car, can be lethal tools, with practice and focus on safety they have their uses. I hope you have the opportunity to try IPSC, there are clubs everywhere. keep on shooting...

You would be most welcome, we have shooters from all over the world. A great sport, last week in our club shoot we had over 90 competitors. It is winter here but we had sunshine and some great stages, had a great time.

Thanks mate, yes the training and competition regulations are very strict, and so it should be, without correct training running with a loaded firearm can be pretty dangerous. You are right though, once a safe handling level is reached it is a great sport, very challenging, exciting and always different.

Too bloody expensive! Shame there isn't a basic .22cal category for those trying to shoot on a budget (eg pensioner like myself)

On www.sspc.org.au/about/location It gives the following information about your range. *** Eagle Park Range RANGE LOCATION: Gifkins Road, Little River, Australia Melway Reference: Key Map Page 11 RANGE TELEPHONE +613 283 1575 RANGE FACSIMILE: +613 9547 0733 OPENING HOURS: 9 am to 5pm Saturday, Sunday & Monday 10 am to 6pm Saturday 12 noon to 5pm Sunday *** I rang the number provided and it said the Optus advises this number is disconnected. I was going to see if you had the beginner course for IPSC running today as it would be a big drive from Bayswater to your range. Also I looked at the calendar ( www.sspc.org.au/calendar.php ) on the sspc website to see if IPSC training was listed for today, it wasn't. In the video it says the first sunday of every month. Is there still training on the first sunday of the month at your range? What is the phone number of your range? Regards, Anthony

G'day Steven If you are in Victoria and want to shoot IPSC, we have monthly club competitions which are worth coming to. Our outdoor dedicated IPSC ranges are changing every competition. Some who are new to IPSC don't realise that every competition has different rage setups, so you wont shoot the same target setup twice, to me this is what makes it exciting, you are not just punching holes in the same target in the same position over and over. Good luck Steve, hope to see you at the range some time...

We had a great comp last weekend. Some excellent stages. Looks like come of our stages designers are getting very creative, but some nice fast stages. I am not very fast but had a great time pushing myself, in fact I pushed a little too far and had a couple of misses on mini targets. Always pushing, always improving . . .
