Town fan here, watched a few of your pods since our game against you earlier in the season and find them quite entertaining. Tbh thought you played really well for the first 65/70 minutes and regarding Manning it’s a tough call because managers don’t get much time but McKenna took a little while to get going and needed a summer transfer window to sort the team out. I can’t say I’ve seen much of yourselves so not best placed to judge given your current position it’s a difficult call to stick or twist but wish you all the best for the rest of the season and keep up the gd work!

Good, interesting and entertaining pod. Better than anything we get at Ipswich. Out of nowhere, Mark Ashton found an unknown coach named McKenna and talked him into coming to Ipswich. For that alone he deserves the highest possible praise. Success at Ipswich has come because somehow the coaching staff have turned ordinary, mid table, League One players into quality footballers.

Was only going to have a quick listen but stayed for an hour. Great pod with really interesting analysis. You nailed it about Town too. There is a really togetherness and an amazing spirit that’s been built by McKenna. Besides being an amazing coach and strategist, he’s a great man manager. When he first joined thought he was a bit low key and even dull, but now could listen to him all day. Super intelligent, with a real twinkle in his eye, fans and players love him. I’ve no doubt he’ll be third Ipswich England manager someday. Hopefully after we’ve spent many years in the Prem with him. 😉 In meantime, good luck for rest of season 👍

You nailed it. ITFC do not give up and they believe in the system, each other and the McKenna ideal. The last 24 months have been the most exciting in the last 40 years watching this team.Coming from League one mediocracy to the brink of the Premiership is amazing. Good luck to Bristol City going forward.

From a substitution point of view, Ipswich usually make three changes, all attacking, at around 75 minutes, so this time, we made four, slightly earlier at an hour, as Moore was carrying a knock, Burns coming back from a calf injury, and we have a fluidity in our attacking play. We are the fittest team in the league, and utilise our squad effectively, in order to maximise our effectiveness over the full game. Leif Davis now has 14 assists, the most ever by a defender in a Championship with 10 games to go. Keiffer Moore only wanted to come to Ipswich, and we tied Al Hamada up nice and early

Manning is a really good coach. Give him a bit of time and a window and you'll push on... Took him 6 months to get Oxford going, and he did a good job at MKD with limited funds..... If I'm honest, both games we've played you, you've blown out at at around 75 minutes. Your high energy games saps your players.... If Welles made it 0-2, different game... Most Town fans left feeling like BC had played really well...

You definitely played better for a majority of that game, made us look like a league 1 team again for a good 75 minutes. The thing is we’re just so dangerous from every player. As a town fan, it was an amazing night, as a football fan, I do feel bad for you.

Bristol City had set their stall out to stop Ipswich playing ... hoping to get a point or nick a win on the break, and in fairness they very nearly succeeded! However, the stats are telling: IPSWICH BRISTOL CITY 2.37 xG. 0.92 57% possession 43% 14 goal attempts 11 8 shots on target 4 375 accurate passes 256

As an Ipswich supporter, I think that there have been too many changes at Bristol City, and you lack stability. Clearly some talented players, and the tactics for the first hour worked, and to be fair to Ipswich, we have scored more goals than anyone in the league, and we are the fittest team, and use our substitutions well, and we are very tough to play at Portman Road in the last 15 minutes. The second Bristol City goal was superb, and to be fair, Ipswich have got the most points from a losing position, and we never give up, so the last 15 minutes is when we are the most lethal at home. As an outsider, I think you need to stick with Manning for a bit, but do fans agree, or want yet another change?
