(25 Dec 2014) Iranian's Christian minority celebrated Christmas on Thursday.
In downtown Tehran, Catholic Christians of Assyrian ethnicity gathered in St.Mary's church on Wednesday, Christmas eve.
Around 120-thousand Christians live in Iran, mostly in central and north-western parts of the country, according to official figures.
However some sources believe the number to exceed 200-thousand.
Iranian Christians are represented in the country's parliament and freely practice their religion as allowed under the constitution.
That's the case for other minorities recognised by the law, such as the Jews and Zoroastrians.
Most Iranian Christians are of the Armenian ethnicity and they are mostly adherent to the Gregorian faith.
