A new topic has been added to our agenda these days as we talk about Israel's attacks on Gaza and the developments in the Red Sea.
On January 16, Iran targeted Pakistan, which it described as a 'friend and brother'. Iran attacked an area 50-60, 100 kilometers deep in Balochistan with missiles and UCAVs. In response, Pakistan hit Iran with missiles. This attack was not expected as the relations between the two states were carried out within the framework of friendship. Before the Iranian attack, officials from both countries were talking about terrorist activities originating from Afghanistan, also in quotation marks. Pakistan also has problems with the Taliban after the Taliban came to power. Because there is an organization operating in Pakistani territory called the Pakistani Taliban Movement, which Pakistan defines as a terrorist organization. The activities of some Sunni organizations originating from Pakistan, on the Iranian side, and its recent representative, an organization called Jayshul Adl, that is, the Justice Army, are organizing bloody attacks especially against the security forces and Revolutionary guards within Iran. The United States did business with intelligence agencies in Pakistan. These relations deteriorated as a result of the events in Afghanistan. The USA formed an alliance with India against China. In addition to all these, it is rumored that the USA may have opened secret bases in Baluchistan again, and the possibility of Iran knowing this is being emphasized. So, did Iran make a mistake by organizing this attack? What do the attacks that escalate tension in the region indicate? GZT Foreign News Editor Hamide Coşkun talked to Researcher Writer Mahmut Osmanoğlu about the mobility in the region and the underlying reasons for the attacks.
