How are these statistics consistent with what we're seeing in front of us on the screen? Please open your minds to realize the limitations of statistics, for all of those numbers must have been self-reported, imperfect measurements, and hardly capture the cultural realities which are directly observable in front of us. Iranians must be in the top countries for readership; even beyond their own rich compendium of Persian literature and poetry which is actively cultivated by every Iranian, I have seldom seen a culture that moves to foreign countries and consistently opens bookshops for its own community (France, USA, etc.)

If you check the global statistics, you will see that Iran is one of the countries that has a very low per capita education compared to other countries, and here all the people are involved in economic problems and life pressures, and they do not have the opportunity and focus to study, and most importantly They have not created any habit of people being book readers in Iran in these years
