@@fargoboyle1 Irish dying on the streets? Ffs, that’s a blatant fucking lie. I’ve travelled around the world and we’re much better off than the vast majority of it. We’ve got a shit housing market, because our financial bubble crashed a decade ago, construction firms folded en masse, builders /engineers/electricians emigrated to Australia, Canada, Dubai and beyond, but whilst the rest of the economy bounced back resulting in inwards migration combined with us being one of the few EU countries with a positive birth rates, we hit a cap of not enough housing to meet demand after mass construction effectively stopped around 2010. Why? Because most of our best builders emigrated after the last crash and the Eastern European labour force went home or stayed and switched job field. I can only imagine the fucking outrage if the government attempted to start funding construction projects back around 2013. The public outrage would be 10x worse than it is now for the shortage of housing.

So I was born here and I have nothing, and refugees get everything for free. Yet our government calls me and other working class people far right, who just wanna be able to live and get jobs and not pay 80% in income taxes. Also in schools they are teaching Irish kids how privileged they are, and half those kids are going back to broken down homes with no food, while Ukrainians go back to their lovely modular homes with free everything and a government that allows them to do whatever the hell they want

This is biased untruth reporting. The reality is very different here in Ireland. The govt are taking an unlimited number of 'refugees' Ireland has had a homeless crisis for years. Now all of a sudden 35,000 houses are being built for refugees to live in Ireland permanently, yet Irish families on a housing list for 12 years. The media also reported women and children would be arriving only, yet the majority are young middle Eastern men in their twenties and thirties. These 'refugees' are living here tax free, and are getting everything for free yet the Irish tax payer had to pay for it. Last week the minister for injustice McEntee announced that Irish people could be FORCED to take in refugees. The Irish govt are against the Irish people.

yeah, it seems so. I don't understand how people can think that way at all, but it certainly seems the case. Of course, given Europe has a long and recent history of absolutely terrorising, brutalising and killing each other based on the language spoken, rather than colour, things could still have gone very wrong for Ukrainian refugees.
